My live in boyfriend got caught lying to me, so I'm giving him the cold shoulder. How long should he get the silent treatment for?

He was gone for hours yesterday and he made up some big lie about it, which he kept going into today. I didn't even ask where he was. He just blurted out all these things that stopped him from coming home. He knows I HATE liars, but he lies to me anyway. He blew it!!! Now I am back to not trusting him again. I should have never stopped trusting a well know liar! How long can our silent treatment last. I am very pissed at him.

His behavior is disrespectful and inappropriate, but your behavior is dysfunctional. What leads you to believe giving him the silent treatment will ever change the pattern you face? Choose your relationships wisely, but never believe one person's inappropriate patterns will undo another person's inappropriate patterns. Unless you believe your choices take you where you want to go, come up with different choices. Have you improved as a person as a result of Elvis Presley not talking to you?

Lol he’s always going to lie cause you keep taking him back. Get rid of him. If my girl gave me the silent testament I’d be happy. It isn’t always a punishment to not hear women talk as much.

Give him the notice to evict if he pays rent or stuff if it's your house. The silent treatment is very immature too.
