I believe that it's a two way street. If both people want more than anything to make it work then they have a good shot. However, strong affection alone isn't enough to hold a relationship together. Having common goals, needs, desires, as well as open and honest communication are all pillars of a lasting relationship. Significant mismatches or communication failures will still strain a relashionship until it breaks no matter how much love there is.

Not only what you shared, but a one-sided relationship will never work. I don't care how much you love a person, if they don't love you back, you're just beating your head against the wall. Never assume you can make someone love you if they're not interested in you.
