Let's be fair: this "recent poll" was taken by Fresh & Fit from about 10 Miami party girls, and only 5 or 6 of them were demanding $100k+, and only 1 of them demanded $400k. Of course, less than half of one percent of men make that much per year, and that girl was NOT even in the top 10% of women - which is why she's always single. Instead, she's going to keep going after those guys in Miami, some of whom will use her for sex and discard her, until she ages out and can no longer even attract them with free casual sex.
Most women are not this delusional - but Miami is a big-money party town, and girls who are in their 20s and reasonably hot and willing to have casual sex readily CAN get wealthy guys to "date" them for a few weeks at a time - and by "date" I mean let them hang out, share in their high lifestyle for a little while, and get banged silly when he's not busy doing something else. The problem is that these girls believe that because such guys will bang her, that she's on the same level as those guys. What they don't realize is that none of those guys take her seriously at all, or have any intention of being with her for more than a few weeks or months. She'll just be a distraction for him for a little while, until he gets tired of her or until she becomes a hassle, at which point, "things just aren't working out" and he'll dump her and find a new one.
This is not to say that there aren't a lot of girls who think that only men making 6 figures are "datable" - because there are, especially in "money towns" like NYC, Chicago, LA, SF, Miami, and Seattle. But look at the RESULTS: none of those girls ever end up with any of those guys - they are nothing but temporary entertainment.
It's the women who have realistic and reasonable demands that get husbands and families, with only rare exceptions.

Apparently most women only consider men good enough for marriage if they make 6 figures a year (American currency).
The average salary that girls will tolerate for marriage is a man making 100k/year.
While a few girls will be ok with guys making 65k/year provided he improves and makes 6 figures in the not too distant future.

That is just crazy. I guess if they poll 20 year olds who grew up in households where the parents owned a thriving business and earned a lot. They might grow up thinking this is the norm when in fact it is a pretty low percentage of the population that makes that much.
If they poll only women who are 30 plus and have been working a full time job for at least 5 years, I'm sure the results of the poll would be much different.
I read @genericname85 response and he's onto something about who they asked. But, I also wonder if it's truly a case of whether the people polled just don't understand what pay scales are and how much the average person earns. So, their answer wasn't necessarily gold digging as much as it was uninformed.
Of course not because that poll didn't ask ordinary people. Instead the poll asked women from very wealthy families, actresses, top models and singers, and other famous people. Clearly, 90 percent of women would say that.

here is my friends story. married over 10 years. Hubby cheated. She wanted to leave…but the new guy must have a private jet to take her around for her to leave the cheated husband.

Inflation is moving at escape velocity of earth :D So to keep up with inflation 400K is necessary if she wants to be housewife or take her career easy.
Now add to that women today have incentive to be competitive (via social media). Now this is a catalyst for the high standards as well.

Doesn't shock me at all. When the sexual marketplace is rigged in women favour their standards increase every year to the most astronomical heights. The same women will also tell you how dynamic and independent they are, yet they see men as nothing more than a pay check.
I would like to be making that 400k myself. How marriages work in my family is both work. They pay bills together, cover stuff for the kid together as well as dates the woman wants something she buys it herself and if the man buys it for her sure that's great too. These are "median" salaries which means the most common. Even if you are on the exceptional end of any scale, you're nowhere close to $400k a year. The most marriages take place between the ages of 25 to 35.

The cost of living is rising daily. Those women are probably just realistic and want to be able to raise kids.
