How far of a distance to travel is too far for a long-distance relationship to work?

I don't know how - he reached out to me - but I started talking with a guy in Texas. I'm just outside NY. He seems interesting. I am not sure if there's anything to it... right now... but is that too far of a distance?

Not necessarily, if it gets to the point that you want to meet each other, somebody can travel that distance. It all depends on how well you get along and how badly you want to see each other

If both people genuinely try to make it work and are willing to put in the effort and if there is some plan to someday be together it does not make any difference how far apart you live.
