What are his motives for this behaviour?

There’s a man I knew. We started off as friends and he said things like suggesting we spend time together, then asking me if I was looking forward to the weekend. I asked him directly if he was asking me out and he said no that he’s seeing someone else, that he was joking and isn’t a relationship guy. He had before the second time, asked me how I felt about him and I’d said I didn’t know how to feel. Since then, he’s continued to show up where I am and give me advice about dating and everything I want to know about. What does all of this mean? Was he mocking me or was he sincere?

It seems like he is messing with your head on purpose. I would walk the other way every time I saw him. If he is dating someone else and giving you this kind of attention then who knows what he will do...

I’m not scared of him anymore. I just find his behaviour strange and confusing. It doesn’t bother me at all that he’s dating and probably kissing and having sex with other women. When we were at movie night and this prettier younger woman approached him, I thought ‘Oh, good. Now he’ll take her and leave me alone finally.’

If I met a guy I really liked, I’d do the same. I just don’t take dating as lightly as I did and I’m sort of happy with my friends. So usually I’d rather go out with my friends or alone than with someone who bores me.
