No. You should treat each other like a king and a queen. These are the coffee cups I bought for my girlfriend and me when she moved in with me. I will treat her like a queen. . . but ONLY because I expect her to treat me like a king, and I try to practice the Golden Rule.

Yes you should both make each other your number 1 priority , remove selfishness for each other , understand you can’t always be right and they are wrong , understand we are all imperfect people , but when you prioritize your partner they should prioritize you as well , out of respect for each other , if the. y choose to walk away , let them go and realize you can’t force someone to love you , you can only give them what you want to receive in return , if it becomes one sided where you feel you are constantly giving and not receiving then you need to walk away and understand you deserve someone that makes you a priority , do t ever be second place to someone that claims they love you

Hey, welcome back! I second @pterodon  You should treat them like you love them. Whether it's hugs and kisses, treating them to a nice dinner, performing acts of service and kindness, or yes, even correcting them if and when they misbehave or in any other ways speak, act, or think in ways that are unhealthy for them or those around them. And on the subject of your question, here's a funny little thing one of my history professors from back in college posted on Facebook some time ago... Treating someone like royalty CAN have some drawbacks...

I treat a woman I really love like a Queen. I think part of the reason is she has been my senior and mentor. So, for her I really get up to do anything even at 4 am in the morning. Weird but that's how it is :).
