Ladies, would you be ok with having a stay-at-home husband if he provided suitable value?

The traditional view of gender roles in the household has been shifting over the years, with more and more men taking on the role of primary caregiver and homemaker. According to the US Census Bureau and Pew Research Center, the number of stay-at-home dads has doubled over the past two decades, with over 2 million men currently in this role.

As I highlighted in the link above, there are a variety of ways husbands can provide value outside of financial provision. With responsibilities such as child care, meal prep, housekeeping, emotional support, career assistance for wife, leaving a positive legacy, community involvement, among other ways to add value to a household, many couples have the opportunity to define what a suitable house husband looks like. It’s NOT just him sitting around the house all day playing video games. Good men WANT to bring value to their families and they want to do it in the best way they know how. For many men, that could be in the comfort of their own homes.

However, I’d love to know your thoughts. Provided that you could afford such an arrangement, if your husband was an excellent cook, housekeeper, involved parent, and aid to your career, would you be cool with him staying home?
