I know they're two different things, but they're somewhat connected, multiple spouses and spouses that you are related to. Since first-cousin marriage is legal in some places, I am referring to incest between siblings or children and their parents. All participants must be of legal age, and we're supposing no grooming took place.

In my country (The Netherlands), incest is not illegal as long as everyone involved is 16 or older, and of course, when it's consensual. But that's the same as it would be with any other sexual actions: the age of consent is 16. The law doesn't have any further restrictions for consensual sex. The oedipal complex was disproven to be a load of horseshit years ago. Freud was notorious for changing the results of his psychological studies because when a bunch of girls told him about how their fathers molested them, their rich, powerful fathers pressured him into changing the results into saying that all children experience sexual attraction to their parents so that they wouldn't look like the monsters they were.

The Oedipus and Electra complexes are real. They're not common, but they exist. As for stating that tests can be done to minimize risks, that's true. Cousins who end up marrying and want to reproduce generally do those tests.

I'm not saying it should be legal, it shouldn't be due to that exact reason, yet if there is no grooming involved then we should look into what makes it illegal. Grooming is just a delayed form of rape as far as I see it.

While I'm not into those things, I don't see why it shouldn't be legal. As long as incest that leads to babies is illegal so we avoid the genetic issues that come with that.

There are a fair bit of tests you can do before trying to procreate to minimize risks as much as you can. If there's no history of problems in the family and proper tests are done beforehand, the risks are the same as in nonfamilial reproduction. If it's generational (like it happens over several generations, or with several generations) the risks are much greater even with testing.

Because it's one thing if two consenting adults get together even if it's incestuous, but they'd have to be capable of being good, sane, responsible parents too.
