As you see from the question this is a situation where a man who is not rich wants to propose his rich girlfriend. The ring is something people around her will see so it won't be hard to guess if that is a cheap ring or not. A woman who has mansions, fast cars and wears expensive outfits should wear a cheap or expensive ring?
465 opinions shared on Relationships topic. The fact of the mather is... that men dont desire material wealth and money in a realtionship while a lot of woman simply are!!
A non rich guy should ask him woman to marry him while accepting he can't afford a expensive ring!! If she is basing her yes or no to this question on the fact how expensive the stupid ring is, then she doesn't deserve to be married to be honest. Then she is just a gold digger no worthy off being married!
Love and material wealth/money are 2 totally separate subjects that have nothing to do with eachother whatsoever!!
If you wanne be rich thats fine!! But don't marry someone for those reasons because thats you just being selfish then instead of loving your partner for who he is personality wise.
Sadly woman don't seem to understand this. Men aren't married because of material things their woman is bringing to the table. Men are willing to marry because of her personality and put of real love. The size of the ring shouldn't mather even if he didn't buy one at all!
If you want to get a expensive ring before getting married... Buy one yourself because obviously you aren't doing it for the right reasons and that will end up destroying your partner who is truly loving you for who you are instead of for what you offer!
More and more men aren't willing to marry anymore because we are increasingly understanding that a lot of you gold diggers out there aren't marrying for the right reasons which is a very sad thing for those woman out there who are marrying for the right reasons.
9 out of 10 time men lose everything to worked so hard for when divorce happens ending up mentally destroyed while still having to pay his ex for many years to come when they have children while the woman is most likely the one breaking up taking half of everything they have while finding someone else pretty quickly again.
Thats why more and more men are feeling that marriage is a just trap instead of something positive. The real losers in this whole scenario are the woman who are wanting to get married, deserve to get married aswell to because they do it out of love instead of seeking wealth and they are ending up not being able to find their marriage because of the damage these gold diggers left behind which is very selfish ofcourse
( Note: although I feel that more then 50% of woman actually do combine love with material wealth that doesn't mean that there aren't a lot of good woman out there who are actually deserving to get married becaust. Im not trying to generelise here but most men hate gold diggers and sadly we notice that to many woman don't seem to understand this)00 Reply

+1 yHe should ask what she wants. She's with him, so clearly she doesn't need a rich man. But maybe having an expensive ring is important to her for whatever reason. Or maybe she doesn't care if the ring is cheap, but wants it to be from him. It's good to discuss things like this beforehand to avoid potentially hurtful or expensive misunderstandings.

Anonymous(18-24)+1 yThey tend to be masculine, exciting, dangerous, plus the drama. We women love drama especially in our early teens and twenties.
I date a real bad boy in my teens who was older, I was 15 and he was 25. I remember one time I was dating another guy closer to my own age for a month after breaking up with him. He saw me at a party with this guy and came over with his buddies and struck the guy on the head and he fell down, then kicked him in the stomach three times and he soiled himself and cried. 10 minutes later in front of all my school friends and my date he pulled up in his car and demanded I get my fat stupid ass in the car. I was so angry but I don't know why but I looked my date straight in the eye and told him that I was sorry but I was going with my ex. It was like he owned me I had angry amazing sex with him that night.
Another time at a friend's house party I was upstairs having sex with a different new boyfriend I was dating and my ex found out. Anyway we were doing it missionary style and it usually didn't take him long as I was his first and as he was about to cum my ex out of nowhere hits him on the jaw from behind and knocks him out and throws him the floor where he ejaculated all over himself. I was so pissed off but my ex just grabbed me and even though I said no and tried to fight him off he bends me over and has his way with me, i screamed for help but nobody came to help, they just looked in from the still open door as he forced himself on me. Still aroused from the previous sex and even though I was being watch I came three times and even squirted on the bed and felt so ashamed. When he was done he just pulled his trousers up and walked out the door with me crying with my ass still up in the air and his cum running down my thighs. My then boyfriend tried to have assault and rape charges filed but nobody would testify including me.
It went on like this for a few years until he went to jail for murder by then he was with my younger sister as well as me.00 Reply

1 yIt just depends if someone based marriage off of material things then the relationship is doomed from the start. I know some people get angry with me for telling the truth.
A ring is a tradition I think the man can do what he wants. I think a man and his to be wife should be the ones talking about this. Not strangers on the internet… Because every marriage is different.
If the relationship is built on genuine love then it’s by far more likely to last then. If it is built on money and/or lust. I know materialistic people say otherwise but those aren’t people who are able to form genuine relationships and I feel sorry for them.

1 yI'd personally go for a cheaper ring bought with my own money. A key characteristics of a man are his stability and reliability. A notorious borrower is not good husband material. And if the woman rejects the cheap ring... Chances are it's going to come back to haunt her, and it's 100% her problem.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yA woman that is rich either is hoe, got where she was by doing hoe-ish things or has a rich family if sugar daddy that’s given them money. There are very little rich women that have earned there money through respectable hard work and effort. So if that man is smart he would use her for her money and her lady-ness but never wife her done

Asker+1 yIt is hard for women to become rich without doing whorish stuff (acting in porn, working as a stripper, have an onlyfans account, being a mistress or sugar baby of a rich man)
But what if she's rich because she comes from a rich family and happens to was raised right?
Rings represent more than the cost. If he saved and put a lot of effort into it that should make it valuable.

In a world where people are good andcare more about love than money he should buy her a ring he can afford and the woman if she loves him would be happy with it. We don't live in such a world so I don't know.

Is it petty for a woman to expect a huge diamond ring when a guy's proposing for marriage?
