Whom do you go to get genuine advice?

My to go person is my maternal aunt, who raised me for some ten years. Tonight I had dinner with her, which I generally do when I need counsel on something.

I can trust her because her advice is always unbiased and on spot, and she's not afraid to tell me things I don't like - while my wife tends to excessively appease me and my mother naturally always tries to "draw water to her mill".

my main source nowadays is the internet. I don't have friends anymore ::Sighs:: there are websites that just give advice and advice only. There are times though when it's nothing like getting it from a person.

These days I could use good advice from someone too. I've ran into not one but two moral dilemmas this week, and advice from an actual person would probably save me from myself! Then I've been pacing around, wondering if I should publish my book series.

I have a friend who has known me for 52 years. He gives me his honest opinion even when he knows I do not want to hear it, and I do the same for him. We have mutual sincerity.

I rarely ask for advice because its just going to go in one ear and out the other. I’m more so looking for validation of what I already intend to do 😂 I will mainly tell the person what I advise myself to do and just tally who agrees or not. If more disagree then I likely won't act on it

my older sister is annoyinh but i love how creative her mind is and most of all her faith is very strong i may not agree with their reasoning of certain things but if yoy have strong faith i easily feel

@Malwi93 Yes, I suppose that is true. I was on my own at a pretty early age and just learned to figure things out by myself. It caused problems in my relationships. My wife is somebody who likes to help people and maybe she saw me as a project but I grew up not getting help from anyone so it was really a different experience having somebody take care of me.
Last summer I had to have a medical procedure. It was going to be done in the doctors office and there was no anesthetic so I told my wife I could go by myself and she did not have to take a day off from work, Still she insisted that she wanted to go. The procedure was a lot harder than I thought it would be and was very uncomfortable. I hyperventilated and afterwards I knew I was about to pass out and if I tried to walk I would go right down on the floor. Then they took my blood pressure and the nurse said that if it got any lower they were calling the paramedics and take me to the hospital. That's when I knew I was in trouble so I told the nurse to go out to the waiting room and get my wife. I knew I was soon going to be unconscious and I was afraid that they would sell all my organs to some rich guy. I was sure glad my wife was there.

Honestly, I have no one person I go to. It depends on what kind of advice. I have a lawyer friend if I have legal questions, I have a nurse friend for medical questions, and for questions about my love life... Not much to talk about there.

It depends on what I need advice for and if I have experience/knowledge in said area. If it's something like relationships, career, or anything that someone my age is still figuring out, then I'll go to one of my parents (whatever one is best suited for the topic).

However, all of this is just based on whether I feel I need advice from them. I usually just try to rely on myself and only ask for advice if I feel it's important enough.

I mean I might run it by my family, but honestly? No one. There are no wise old men. Most people do not care about your problem. Certainly not enough to give you any educated advice. And if you've done your homework odds are you are the best source of advice. So at the end of the day I trust my educated guess over everyone else's opinion in almost everything.
