My boyfriend is demanding I go to the doctors?

I’m 22, he’s 26. I have no medical health issues, and generally I am a healthy woman, although sometimes my periods are irregular and I suspect I may have vaginismus as we are having trouble inserting him.

My boyfriend very much values health check ups. He’s pretty much demanding I go to the doctor to ‘check that my body is normal’, and also talk through any questions I have, which may be of a sexual nature, or about my body, such as my periods. He also is demanding I get regular cervical screening tests.

I honestly don’t know what to make of this. I would get a cervical screening test, but just going to the doctors, it’s like he’s forcing me. What do you guys think of this?

He is just concerned. Usually I would call someone forcing you to do things a red flag, but if it is about health concerns that you have confirmed and validated it is genuine concern and not a red flag at all. You should go to the doctors like he said and tell him the results as well. It's perfectly reasonable to be concerned about the health of your partner when there are clear complications and symptoms. It's more of a red flag when they don't care than if they care a bit too much.

If it's causing problems in the bedroom he is right to do so. Or do you think it's okay to potentially condemn him to a dead bedroom because you don't want to go to the doctor?
