Boyfriend dreamed I was making out with female friends. Am I overreacting for feeling uncomfortable?

We’ve been dating for a year and a half. He mentioned this dream to me during a conversation around kinks and it completely threw me off. For the record, I know dreams are sometimes just a dream and nothing more so I’m not upset about that. Instead I guess I’m weirded out that he shared it so eagerly. He told me in the dream he was peering through a window slyly (smirking as he watched) and then he and his guy friends looked at each other and gave high fives.

For added context, both female friends from said dream are engaged to guys also in their circle and they tend to have hyper sexual conversations. The girls also jokingly refer to me their wife. I just don’t know how he expected me to respond to that and it kind of turned me off from him a bit. Not to mention, I’m now a bit weary about the next time I’m hanging out with his friends.

This reads a bit like a projection I’m sorry. We have a very open line of communication and he’s shared that this is the most comfortable he’s ever felt. I’m actually the one who’s more closed off and working on opening up more hence this question to the public. How would you have responded is what would be insightful for me here.

I don't know... I wouldn't care, so something like "hmm... was it any good? oh and italian for dinner?" because that wouldn't weird me out. It's a dream. I don't care. I don't see any more reason to comment on that than I do the weird font in a restaurant menu.

Thank you for your perspective! We’re doing things long distance currently so sometimes it takes some extra elaboration. I’m still not uncomfortable with the dream, just confused given the conversation topic was about kinks and experimenting when he brought it up. I agree with you when it comes to dreams in general though.

I stopped smoking after my heart attack because I love my rescue kittens and they like to play daddy chase me... promise this is going somewhere.

I actually had a dream two nights ago I was at a bar I once went to in Kowloon. Down the hill a little into the alley, on the right, upstairs by a giant stone statue through a wooden door the bar is to the left and kitchen on the right, it's dimly lit but there's a lot of accent lights on the bar and the various pieces of art around the small establishment (which serves some great food by the way). I was talking to the bartender and the guy beside me had just gotten kicked out for smoking in the bar. He left his smokes behind, but all of them had been sliced open so you couldn't get a drag on them if you tried. All except the one smoldering in the ashtray. The bartender saw me looking at it and goes "well it's already lit, you might as well"... so I took a drag then immediately thought of my rescue kittens, snuffed it out and felt utterly disgusted with myself. Then I woke up. I realized I wasn't in Kowloon anymore, and I hadn't had a drag. All good. What does it mean? I dunno. I'm not going to Kowloon anytime soon. I do miss that bar. I don't think I could find it that easily anymore since it's been so long, but if I did I have very little doubt that I'd not smoke in it.

I was mentally exhausted in the morning, but it was all a dream, so I played fetch and catch with the rescue kittens, got in a better head space, and went on about the day as if nothing ill had happened.

I agree. The dream doesn’t hold as much weight as him sharing it excitedly with me. I’ve had far more explicit dreams that haven't meant anything irl but I don’t usually share those with the people in them. I didn’t know how to respond is all.

In the midst of my processing this all he sent his goodnight text. I responded to that with a text about my discomfort but I’ll have to wait until he wakes up to know his response. I’m curious to hear what others think as well.
