+1 yActually I would already know he has been cheating since I would be very respectfully towards his own family while they and been lost his own father who I was actually planned with him to meet his family the same day that he found his father had suddenly passed away from a heart attack. which he told me that I was always caring yet sicken he would actually talk behind my own back and he would take his iPhone always with while he come over to my condo which he would be talking to the Gold digger female 🐑 lol who then got him arrested after she claims he was abusive which he actually went to cheat on me with 2nd Butch (41 years old ) and the 3rd (51 years old) female who actually said that (38 years old ) he was always talking about the 2nd female and not much about me which I was laughing toward my now ex loser because both of them were way older never would be able to handle being able to be impregnate by him which he always would talk about me and him having children and how he talks about baby name's with me and he actually tells me I was his issues which why he went to cheat because he was bored 🥱 lol which I told him that he must of been that bored force his own so called friends to attacked & froce themselves on his own so called girlfriend aka me and have they all had knowledge that I had under the influence of alcohol. Which I had to use my teeth🦷to stop 🛑 his own bastard friends and bit down hard. And he actually told me afterwards that night it was my own fault for not being able to handle my alcohol because I had puked since they were forcing themselves on his own girlfriend yet he NEVER WANTED to stop them. Yet he told I was the cheater in our argumentivity relationship. Which he actually has a domestic violent charges for the ex gold digger & also I guess she is his ex fiance , which he claims forced him to buy her 4 different engagement rings ranging in valuable of $499.99 - $3,000 since she needed to prove her friends that he was real. which she still has the rings and in Illinois State laws says that he actually can get the rings back since she broke the engagement agreement with each other.

This actually happened before. We had no issues using each other's phone at any time. Until one day my phone died during a phone call with my mom. He was playing his video game so I went and grabbed his phone to call my mom back, and was met with an Enter Passcode message lol
Long story short... it's usually a bad sign, a waving red flag when they are afraid of letting you use their phone. I believe in privacy but I also believe in red flags

i have a password in my phone too. it's stupid to not have one because if you loose your phone or it gets stolen, the person would be able to mess with my accounts and data.
My partner can always get the password from me, and i don't change it.
So the phone is open for her. - +1 y
@thomasmore yea exactly, you gave her the password...
That's how my ex was she was real protective of her phone shit everything, I suspected I knew she was cheating but I had my kids to raise, so out didn't bother me because I knew it was leaving soon as my kids started college, and I'm not one go snooping around, í know people who go as far as putting spyware on their partners phones, when you reach that point you might as well end it, I wouldn't waste my time to stoop that low as to put spy software on someone's phones, I wouldn't want that done to me I have had that happen but it's invading someone's privacy and not worth it, it's over at that point,

u +1 y1. If I don't have any reason to distrust her, I don't care about seeing her phone.
2. If I do have a reason to distrust her, I talk to her about that reason and I listen to her explanation. If there is some lingering doubt and looking at her phone might resolve that for me, I explain that to her but I add that showing me her phone is her choice.
Asker+1 yYea and my question is if she refuses to let you lol
- +1 y
Then I would tell her that I would be making a decision about our future on the basis of the information that I already had and if she thought that me seeing her phone might resolve my doubt, then she should reconsider her decision to not show me. And I would probably break up with her, but this assumes that there is already a reason to not trust her aside from her hiding the phone from me.
Asker+1 yVery respectable response bro

@ChicoFromThe305 Maybe there is a reason, like she is planning a surprise birthday get together with friends or family and doesn't want you to know about it. People should be able to hide things that are none of your business. As long as there no other indication of not being faithful, let it slide.
Asker+1 yI guess it depends but in this generation trust is earned unfortunately

For me, trust is given and kept until she gives me a reason to no longer trust her.

I think cell phones and social media played a big part on damaging the foundations of a relationship, I was a teen in the 90’s when technology wasn’t as advanced as it is today , people weren’t really glued to their phones and social media apps like it is today , we had internet but it was slow as shit and most homes only had 1 or 2 landline phones that a whole family would share , so nobody really had easy access into each others lives , to contact someone , you needed to get their phone number or their screen name first , before you could really get in touch with someone , Today you can just type in someone’s name and you can secretly message them without anyone else really knowing. The second I joined Facebook , people I thought i would never see or hear from again were popping up back into my life like it was nothing , old girlfriends that I thought I would never see or hear from again were inboxing me and pretty much flirting with me , not caring about whether I was in a relationship or not. So it just goes to show how much has changed since the past , When I ask married
Couples how they stayed married for so long , they all say because we didn't focus on cell phones and social media

I was upset because I knew he was hiding something. He could use my phone without any problems. I didn't have anything to hide.
In the 7 years I knew him when e would call his number he never answered it and let it go to voicemail. A friend of his told me he never listens to voicemail, he just deleted them.
Ohhh, but if I didn't answer my phone he didn't like that one bit. He's like "Why didn't you answer your phone"?
So I replied "Because you never answer yours. I just wanted you to see how it feels".14 Reply- +1 y
What if he did give you his secret passcode digits and you looked through his phone and looked in "Photos" and there were pictures of him having intercourse with much much older women. You saw all of his parts and what he was doing?

like, @chicofromthe305if I'm with someone in a relationship, why should I, as a first reaction, show distrust? Why? Because of my own insecurities? Is it fair?
if we decided to be together it means we already earned each other trust. Why should I throw it away without hard evidence? We can talk about it later when we both cool down.
I also would like my partner to ask me first and draw conclusions after...
Asker+1 yWell if someone is preventing you specifically from seeing it, seems like enough evidence to me to start concotioning assumptions lol
I don't believe it's wrong as someone in the relationship to want to assure they are with a person worth trusting, you are an older women, I expect suck loyal behavior from you and you grew up in the moments where people should be trusted until it's broken but as time went by, it's devolved to the point where trust is now earned and if you haven't noticed dating isn't how it used to be and the youth has grown into seeing such behavior and they have evolved to survive in it by not trusting until it's earned, it's sad but true unfortunately.
Asker+1 ySuch* not suck

so would you start the relationship with someone you don't trust @ChicoFromThe305 ?

Asker+1 yYou said silently walk out the relationship which sounded like not telling him you are breaking up and just moving on without breaking off the commitment, which is still cheating 😂

It’s not cheating tho, It’s ghosting. Just cuz I didn’t tell him we broke up doesn’t mean I’m still in a relationship. He know he was already cheating on me and being sneaky. I’m choosing not to argue and confront him cuz all he will do is lie. So I pack all my shii and leave permanently.
Asker+1 yIt's cheating Bro, if you didn't tell him that the relationship is off, you cheated when you chose to be with someone else while still keeping the other guy in the belief that you are still holding commitment to him, I'm not saying he isn't a cheater cause you said he was but that doesn't change the fact you are one as well now, it was as simple as even just leaving him a text that it's over and you are breaking up with him.
Asker+1 yI guess.

I just don't snoop in other people's phones, it's private.
Asker+1 yThat's kinda sus, maybe he should be going through your phone 😂
- +1 y
Yeah, that's just not going to happen. If he cannot be civil and trust me, then we shouldn't be in a relationship.
Asker+1 yAre you hiding anything?
- +1 y
Not really, but that doesn't mean I would enjoy someone looking through my private stuff. And it's a sign of them not trusting you.
It's a violation of privacy.
Asker+1 yI just don't understand what can be so private that your partner isn't allowed to see, sounds more like it's something you know he wouldn't like but alright lol
- +1 y
Have you ever had someone looking through your room or apartment? Like every shelf, cabinet, drawer? You might not be hiding something. But it's incredibly uncomfortable and feels like a huge violation of you and your home.
I would feel just like that if someone was going through my phone.
And again, it seems more like they just don't trust me. And they would be looking for something.
Asker+1 yI'm not a good example, I'd be hiding my guns and ammo around my house 😂
But I don't understand what can be so private that you can't show your lifelong partner, I can't think of anything unless it's something someone would want to hide from their partner for whatever reason, your partner knows everything about you- +1 y
Listen, it's super uncomfortable to have people go through all your stuff.
And if they need to go through your phone, they don't trust you.
It's that simple.
Having someone not trusting you, searching through your stuff, wanting to judge everything they can find?
No thanks. I wouldn't want that kind of person in my life.
If my partner needed to borrow my phone, sure. They can.
Of they want to use that trust to look through it, that's just a huge violation of that trust.
Asker+1 yYea but my point is that there's nothing private that normally has to be hidden from a partner, most of the time it's something deceitful, or if it's like a gift they ordered or something for their partner as a surprise but normally it just raises suspicions if you refuse to be secretive with your cellular device, if someone is being sneaky with their phone, it's hard to be trustful, I can trust but if the person is being weird it's only normal to suspect something is up, considering I'd be the type to be very close to my partner, secrets would catch me by surprise, now if y'all both hold secrets from each other then that's different I guess.
- +1 y
Yeah, I'm not secretive about my stuff. It's not like I would always close it down when they are in the room and such.
Privacy is just important to me.
I share a lot with those I care about and I'm mostly open like a book. If they ask I answer.
All I need from them is to respect my privacy and property, to not look through my stuff without consent.
I don't know how else to get this across.
(I'm single right now so this is hypothetical.. but damn this is a fear of mine to find someone who won't understand my thought process)
Asker+1 yWell being secretive and wanting privacy are two different things, one is deceitful and the other isn't, even then normally both people know each other's privacy too, so what's so private that you gotta hide from your partner? Cause depending on what it Is, it can be deceitful, the point of my question is that they refuse to give you their phone, when it's that extreme, something is usually up.
- +1 y
It's not like I would be hiding something.
But I need to have a reason for them to look at my phone. Anything is weird, right?
Why the need to look through your partners phone other than you not trusting them?
Also, I can easily have very personal and private conversations with my friends where they might not want to share the conversation with my partner. (We often talk about mental health issues and stuff)
Asker+1 yThat's... a good point bumble bee, but I meant normally or in a natural situation where you wanna see their phone for whatever reason, not paranoia, although if it does happen from lack of trust I would assume it's cause they have their suspicions from other things, but you make a fair argument, that's where I believe communication should happen but would you prevent them from using your phone for these reasons because normally a partner shouldn't start going through their partners conversations and to be fair a partner wouldn't if they know they are just your friends right?
- +1 y
They can use my phone if they have something specific to use it for.
But it's like if I'm showing some pictures to people. I would hate it if they just used the time to continue swiping.
It's not because I have pictures that are NSFW or anything. But it makes me uncomfortable anyway.
It's that "going through your stuff" feeling, and I really hate that.
Just that communication, respect, and being open about it is important to me.
And I'm huge on letting people have their privacy and private space.
Asker+1 yFair enough that's understandable, so would this be enough to have you not want to lend your phone to your partner?
- +1 y
If they need to use it, they can lend it. Just don't go through my phone.
Asker+1 yOkay so you would give it to them, my point is about people that wouldn't lol
- +1 y
I think my point basically just is, what is their purpose of using my phone?
And whether or not they will just borrow it for that specific reason, or because they'll snoop.
Asker+1 ySo that isn't a lack of trust? 😂😂
I'm sure they will use it for whatever purpose they tell you they need it for, unless you don't trust em lol
