What is the most damning thing you've said in a serious relationship?

In my high school days my top oofs were: "I lied to you about liking you". I put that in a love letter and walked away. I got 10ft before I heard her collapse in tears. Worse yet it was not the first time something similar happened to her by me.

Oh yeah I was a relational nightmare back in those days. But I've definitely brown out of it

Probably more something I didn’t say.


It was one of those relationships where you have reoccurring unresolved relationship issues, but the other partner never wants to cooperate to work through them.


Then years pass and you reached that point of being completely fed up with the continuous dysfunction, so you decide to leave.


Because a relationship should be a 2-way street. It’s unfair when only their concerns matter but yours don’t.


While I was breaking up with her, in a tone of remorse, she told me, “I love you…”


But I didn’t say it back to her like she was used to.


All she heard back was deafening silence.

There was also another break up where we were outside and I told her that I didn’t want to see each other anymore, that we were over. Then I left, and as if on cue, it started to rain.

I told a girl I was “emotionally in love with her”.

Which was very true but I was banging my head against the wall for not feeling physically attracted to her. I hated myself for it because she was attractive but I just struggled with the spark. I didn’t tell her that because I didn’t know anyway to humanely express how deeply I loved her yet didn’t feel it for sexually. It was NOT a “friend zone” feeling.

It was inexplicably an incredulous mind f*ck for me. Never felt that way about anyone else I’ve met in my life.

If someone pushes me past my limit I say terrible things.
