How do I explain to my boyfriend that lack of sex isn't a reason to break up?

My boyfriend "Broke up" with me about a week ago because "our sex life isn't what he wants".

I told him this is crap, you can't break up over that, and yes, we used to have more sex but it's natural over time to peter out and not have it as much, he disagrees and says we are on two different pages, I told him to grow up and call me in a few days when he realises this is not a valid reason, once a week is more than enough.

He didn't contact me after a few days so I took the bigger persons role and asked him if he wants to go out for dinner, he replied that I'm not his girlfriend anymore so no, and I just sent back a laugh emoji and told him what time to pick me up, because we are still together, but he didn't.

Your making a lot of assumptions here. You do not have enough information to make these jumps in logic. You also have very limited information on their relationship and their could be more to this story.

To clarify, he certainly can decide to end the if he feels they are not on the same page sexually.

Sex is still an important part of a relationship to build intimacy. She isn't required to give sex on demand, but she also shouldn't just off handedly dismiss his needs because "it's just sex".

Sorry, he's just a different beast. And you have to accept that. Some men and women NEED sex and they need it like once or twice a day.
