Do men ever grow in love the way women seem to?

For instance women seem to be able to fall in love with someone they may have not been physically attracted to in the beginning but in getting to know him, start falling in love with him based on personal attributes. It seems like with men if you don't appeal to them physically at first the chances of him falling in love with her aren't as high. Are there exceptions and why is this?

That's not how men work. We know very quickly if we have feelings for a woman or not - we don't "grow into" love like most women do/can. But while looks are a component of it, it's not nearly as much as you (and many other women) seem to believe. It's actually a lot more about the woman's personality and attitude, as well as her history and behavior.

Guys who just pick a girl based on her looks are nearly always going to be guys who never had any intention of having a committed relationship anyway - it was always just casual sex for those men, and if it's just casual sex, then her looks are one of the only important things - you won't spend enough time with her for her personality or attitude to really matter.

It's very rare for men to fall in love over time - not saying it NEVER happens, but it's quite unusual. Overwhelmingly, we start having feelings for a girl after our first significant interaction with her, OR perhaps, after some amount of time being around her and observing her interact with people - because her personality and attitude will come through.

If a man doesn't have romantic (and I don't mean SEXUAL) feelings for you after you've hung out with him for an hour, then it's almost certain that he never will. We know right away - or we know right away that we don't have those feelings.

No that happens to men just as much, we just keep it platonic when we love a person's character but not their body, because love is not enough to be interested in a relationship.

We view that sort of love like how parents love their children, or a human loves their pet.
