Lust is a Feeling, Love is an Action. Agree or Disagree?

I read this on a relationship therapist/coach's post, and it didn't strike me quite right. While I agree it takes acting on love to build a good relationship, without the feeling of love, those actions are just a duty. And I also believe that while lust shouldn't be considered love, and it can be fleeting, it's also important for a thriving, loving relationship.

I agree because it's the only practical way to measure it as I see. How else do we tell without becoming mind readers and trying to understand every possible way every other human being experiences those feelings?

I remember a Q on here which asked, "How do you know if your SO loves you?" I genuinely don't and never will know if we're talking about feelings since I can't read my wife's read mind. I can only go by her actions, yet her actions show tremendous devotion and selflessness. She has consistently acted as someone who cares deeply about me, and that's always been good enough for me.

Suppose someone hypothetically has feelings of love for their SO but abuses or neglects or cheats on them vs. another who hypothetically has feelings of hatred or indifference for their SO but shows them nothing but warmth and kindness and affection and loyalty.

I have doubts as to whether such hypotheticals can even exist but if they can, I still prefer the latter option and I'd still prefer to call it the one that demonstrates love even if the only feeling accompanying it is an ethical sense of duty.
