Can cheating be forgivable and worked out no matter how you discover it?

Personally I found out through a text message last year and nope I couldn't work it out. I dumped him. If someone wanted to reconcile, can it be forgivable and still worked out in these scenarios, if it got discovered in these ways:

- They actually came clean themselves out of guilt. No one else knew this but they still confessed. Or they confessed while drunk.

- You discovered text messages, recorded conversations, phone bills or other evidences after hiring a PI.

- The affair partner or someone else (even a little kid) tells you first. Your partner was never going to tell you.

- You literally walk in on them in the act (without clothes) or discover a hidden video about them.

If the woman is just staying with the cheater because she then has no where to go, then she really doesn't like him.
