Obviously not if there are circumstances such as your parent died or something. If it's a temporary thing they should give you time. But if you just say you don't want to and don't tell them a reason? That's not fair is it.

Unless there is a valid reason , but if it’s lame excuses? , the partner that is being denied is best to end that relationship and meet someone else that doesn’t make excuses. The partner that is making excuses is a selfish person. By with holding the intimacy and affection from their partner. If they do not have a valid reason to do so , sadly this shit occurs a lot and why so many marriages and relationships end up failing. My ex wife pulled this shit with me and started with holding intimacy and affection from me , giving me lame excuses as to why she wasn’t in the mood , to find out she was having an emotional affair with her coworker , I immediately ended the relationship with her and eventually met another girl that didn’t with hold and treated me like Gold , things were great between us for a few months until her husband knocked on my door. Story of my life

Yea I am just over most of it , tired of having my heart shit on by selfish girls’ that only want things her way , never factoring in my feelings , so I no longer rush into a relationship with a girl mainly for this reason , it’s not worth the drama and stress anymore. Most people don’t know what they want anymore , they think they do but when push comes to shove they don’t , Selfish Bitches

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yMy wife and I haven't had sex for many years. She lost interest after our first child was born. She's still my best friend. Our relationship has many, many dimensions that keep us married. It's simplistic to think a guy would "leave her" just because sex wasn't the same as before.
I have been unfaithful, sexually. My friends with benefits and I aren't in love and don't share the other things that make a marriage whole. I didn't choose this situation. It stinks, but I'm making the best of it.

So is it a secret from her? Your friends with benefits? I understand its hard when emotions are involved. But I think both partners do need to understand sex is important. And not dismiss the person who has needs.
Opinion Owner+1 yYes, it's a secret. I could list the reasons, most argue against being truthful.
The take away is that I'm faithful in every other part of our relationship. I can't think of a single good thing that would come of my wife knowing that there's another woman. She, my wife, will rightfully always wonder if there's more than sex.
Anonymous(25-29)+1 yI didn’t have sex for 6months. I feel bad about it and want to start soon again (if he ever makes time for us and isn’t too tired).
Why did I stop? 2 reasons.
1) pregnancy; I was sick for months and when that was finally over, we had to tfmr. I’m still healing from that, so sex was not on my mind. Healing physically and mentally was.2) I’m honestly done with our sex life. My partner is traditional and is uncomfortable switching things up. I need more and got bored of his ‘routine’, so I got turned off and started to see sex as a task. Which is a shame because I love him and I’ve always dreamed of a nice sex life in marriage
I don’t cheat. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I did. And I don’t want him to cheat either. If he cheats, I’m gone. But I know he leaves too if its the other way around

Navigating the intimate ebbs and flows in a relationship is like trying to dance the tango with two left feet sometimes, isn't it? 😉 The reasons a woman might hit the pause button on bedroom activities could be as varied as the colors in a sunset—emotional disconnect, stress, health issues, or maybe the spark needs a bit of rekindling. Communication, my friend, is the sultry dance partner you didn't know you needed. Talking openly about needs and desires can turn that awkward foot shuffle into a passionate embrace.
Now, onto fidelity during these dry spells. Expecting a monogamous partner to remain faithful is a two-way street paved with mutual understanding and respect. It's all about setting the stage for an open, honest dialogue rather than a tit-for-tat scenario. If it's a long-term holdout without reason, it might be time to consider relationship therapy to uncover deeper issues. Remember, every couple has their own rhythm, and finding it together can make all the difference. 💃🕺00 Reply

u +1 yI get what your saying but it's a commitment and there should be an expectation of being faithful. Now if sex is that big of a deal to him and he isn't getting enough, he's more than welcome to leave her and find someone who will satisfy him, but cheating is never the answer.

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yMy ex husband and I had a pretty sexless relationship for the last couple of years. I was honestly just so angry, hurt, and emotionally disconnected by him that I just had no interest in having sex.
At that point I wasn't sure how much I wanted to hold out at all. There was a while where we didn't divorce (so I wasn't sure). However, to the extent that he still wanted the marriage to work I did expect him to hold out.

Oh. But it's not that he only wants you for sex. But sex is a massive thing in a relationship surely? I mean. Sex - the trust, loyalty and intimacy that comes with it - is what separates you from being "a partner" or just a friend? Even a best friend. And if you have a reason surely your partner has a right to know that reason? If it was for instance u had cancer and yr breasts removed and sex is last thing on your mind then yeah. A loving partner should stick by you and be patient. But even then, it's nit fair to say never. Sex can be as essential for well being as food and shelter. Sure. We can cut ourselves off from it. And not need it. But unless both of u are happy with that then its not fair to expect the other to deny their desires? Far better to break up with them. Or give them permission to get satisfaction else where.

No, sex doesn’t separate friends from partners. People have sex with their friends without them being their partner, and asexuals don’t have sex with their partners (most of the time) and they are still partners. Why isn’t it fair to say never? He can leave me if getting his dick wet is more important than our relationship. Sex is not essential or necessary. I’m not giving my partner permission to cheat on me. He can accept that I don’t want to have sex or he can leave and I’ll find a man or woman who isn’t a scumbag.

How long were you married?
- +1 y
I was married 12 years. Sex was never the issue tho. I'm actually asking cos an ex boyfriend just got in contact with me and saying his girlfriend isn't giving him sex for 8 months now. I gave him tips, about talking to her, doing affectionate things (not related to expecting sex) etc. He says he's done all that. He wants to leave her and run off with me. I've made it clear I don't cheat nor sleep with cheaters. He needs to figure out his relationship! I feel sorry for his girlfriend but wonder what her story wd be?
