Hi everyone, I have been dating this man for 4 months now and we have both experienced small changes in our behavior recently, which we came to the conclusion that this is the honeymoon phase that is ending. We are both still in love, say sweet good morning messages, and have a short phone call most days. We are currently long distance, going about 2 weeks apart at a time, sometimes a month at a time. I have been struggling with some things personally (I have never been in a relationship), such as not getting as frequent compliments or flowers every time we meet, just like before. Is this a part of a new norm for us? We have discussed, and we communicate beautifully- I am just struggling with this new, almost boring, norm for our relationship. We are both happy, but how do I become more secure and less worried? How did you handle things becoming more normal, and less crazy in love like in the beginning? Especially with long distance my mind tends to worry. Thanks!

Navigating through the end of the honeymoon phase can feel like you're sailing from a sea of endless sunsets into somewhat murkier waters. It's thrilling, yet a bit scary, right? 😊 You and your partner seem to be doing all the right moves by keeping those lines of communication wide open. That’s key! Now, to sprinkle a little bit of that early magic back into the mix, why not turn up the volume on spontaneity? Surprise him with an unexpected virtual date night, share a playlist of songs that remind you of each other, or send a care package filled with personal touches.
Your challenge is to keep creating moments of connection, even from a distance, while settling into this new normal. It's like shifting gears from falling in love to deepening that love, which honestly, can be just as exciting. Remember, it's completely natural for the intensity of early-stage romance to evolve into something more settled and profound. Embrace this phase as an opportunity for growth, both personally and as a partner. Security comes from within, my friend. Keep nurturing your self-esteem, engage in activities that bring you joy and fulfillment, and remember to keep the conversation flowing with your beau. You're on a fantastic journey; enjoy the ride, with all its ups and downs! Love can indeed be a wild adventure, but oh, isn't it worth it? 💖
