Of course not!
Jealousy Versus Love
Love is trust. Jealousy is suspicion.
Love is the basis for confidence and high self-esteem. Jealousy is envy and lack of self worth.
Love is warm, tender and compassionate. Jealousy is rage.
Love is forgiving. Jealousy is unforgiving.
Men that love will lift their wives and lovers to the sky and give them freedom to be all that they can be. Jealous men control and confine, and will pull down their wives and girlfriends to their level and trample them under their feet. As a result, women that are loved will live up to expectations. Wives and lovers, who are belittled and subjected to constant defamation, tend to live down to the suspicions of jealous men.
Love gives the confidence and self-assurance for men to have pride when other men show admiration toward their wives and lovers. Jealous men are fearful and envious of the same admiration.
Men that love will risk their lives to protect their wives from any real harm. Jealous men will beat their wives and threaten other men over imaginary fears.
Now, none of the above implies that love will be blind to the facts. Nor does it mean that a loving husband will accept infidelity.14 Reply- 1 y

@DrPepper12 @Lliam That was copied from a letter I wrote when I was in high school in responding to a writer's story on a fan fiction site. In which I stated, "I do hope you are not one of the people that confuse jealousy for love and believe that jealousy is a good trait."
In another paragraph I wrote. "It is your story and you are free to take whatever license you wish. However, should you wish to present Henry as consumed with jealousy, let me point out the differences between love and jealousy because to a large extent, it is the jealous men that brutalize and abuse their wives and lovers."
The OP's question is the first time since, that I have had an opportunity to use it. - 1 y
I hope the revisiting of your HS self brought you grace and pride! TY

Or jealous that someone could steal your partner?
Cause if it’s the second one I personally believe it’s a good thing.
I’ve felt jealous that someone could steal my partner or my partner could like someone else. SPECIALLY when I cared about him that much and was infatuated by him that much.
If im not attracted or interested, DUHHH, I won’t feel jealous!
Why fear their loss if you don’t care?😂

Anonymous(30-35)1 yBeing jealous is NOT a good thing. If you don’t trust your partner it’s never a good thing. You can know your partner genuinely loves you. You can see people who are super attractive and not have to worry your woman/man is going to do anything. Frankly if someone’s going to cheat they’re gonna do it…. People with low morals can’t help themselves.
Being jealous of what someone else has…. That’s another problem. Instead of being happy for your partners accomplishments, possessions, etc. You become jealous over them that’s never a good thing. I find it incredibly retarded when couples become at war with one another. When they’re supposed to be on the same side.
Jealousy and envoy are what causes relationships to end. A lot of times it happens form a gut feeling or projection.

A small amount of jealousy can be normal in a relationship, as it can indicate care and investment in the partner. However, excessive jealousy is generally harmful. It can lead to mistrust, insecurity, and controlling behavior, damaging the relationship's foundation. Healthy relationships are built on trust, communication, and mutual respect. When jealousy arises, it’s important to address the underlying insecurities and communicate openly with your partner. Working together to build trust and understanding can prevent jealousy from becoming destructive. Ultimately, while mild jealousy might be natural, it should not dominate the dynamics of a healthy relationship.

Aiming to sprinkle a little wisdom here, and let's dive into the hot waters of jealousy, shall we? Jealousy, that tricky little monster, has a bit of a spicy reputation. In small doses, it can be a signal, a nudge that says, "Hey, something here matters to me, and I might need to communicate my feelings or needs a bit better." However—and here's where the alarm bells might start ringing—if it starts turning into a feast, it can consume the very essence of your relationship like a wildfire. Jealousy often comes from insecurities or fears of losing someone, which, let's be real, is part of being human. But, when it overshadows trust and smothers the freedom to breathe, love, and grow, it turns into a red flag waving furiously. The key? Communication, darling. Talk it out, understand each other's fears and desires, and maybe, just maybe, you can transform that green-eyed monster into a cute little pet that brings you closer. Remember, too much spice can spoil the broth, so let's keep it zesty but tasty! 😉

1 yA bit of occasional jealousy is a good think, it shows you care. But constant jealousy is bad, very bad, and will destroy a relationship.
00 Reply 2.7K opinions shared on Relationships topic. No. It's an idiotic waste of time.
00 Reply2K opinions shared on Relationships topic. No. If you trust your partner, there is no need for jealousy. If you don't trust them, either you have unhealthy mental issues or they are truly untrustworthy.
If they are untrustworthy, why would you stay with them? You can't hold onto them by keeping them on a leash.
I take pride in my partner. It makes me proud when she captures the attention of others for her looks. I know that she isn't interested in anyone but me. She would never cheat and neither would I.
We don't snoop on each other. We don't have to. What would be the point?
Jealousy is for immature, insecure, controlling people with anger issues and are prone to violence. They are incapable true love or healthy relationships. They may even be narcissistic. Either way, they are trouble and should be avoided.10 Reply- 1.4K opinions shared on Relationships topic.
1 yAbsolutely not. There's no reason for jealousy in a relationship. I do my utmost to make my partner not feel jealous. I tell them where I'm going, who I'm with when I'm with them, and give them fingerprint access to my phone. I'm extremely communicative and make sure they know how much I love them and how committed I am to them.
A partner that truly loves and cares for you would never want you to feel negative emotions over them. Some people think it's healthy to have a little jealousy in a relationship because it shows that the other person cares, but to me that's just immaturity and a lack of emotional intelligence.

1 yIt's good being jealous if there is a justification for it.
Being jealous, just because your partner interacts with the complementary gender, is not a good sign.
The truth is, even when we like our partner, we always feel certain degree of attraction to other people. But even then we choose to stay with our partner, because that is way more fulfilling than a fling.
I know my girlfriend finds other men attractive, but I also know she prefers to be with me over anyone else. So I feel no jealously whatsoever.
10 Reply In very small doses it can be sexy on occasion but too much of anything is never good. shows insecurity. overly jealous people have a tendency to be controlling as a partner just to avoid their own uncomfortable emotions which is a big no and a huge turn off for me

4.4K opinions shared on Relationships topic. No. Because I'm not property. You don't own me. You're not entitled to me. If I'm dating you, then you have already agreed to non monogamy. So if you suddenly get a problem, that's on you. If you hid it, you're a liar and I'll drop you. It's toxic controlling bullshit.

1 yNo. Being alert and cognizant of your partners needs is good. Tbh some harmless competition could improve relationships. I get a real kick out of people hitting on my wife as its truly a compliment to her for her desirability and to me for choosing her. Its great because she shuts that shit down and i get to go home and fuck her!

1 yThere’s nothing wrong with being attracted to a partner’s possessiveness, it’s nice to be wanted. However, there is an issue when that jealousy turns into a need for control over their partner and usually works to isolate them heavily to force codependence

Anonymous(30-35)1 yAbsolutely not. It is normal, though, but you should hide it. Almost everyone takes advantage of their partner when they are jealous. Or they can get their revenge on you for that. I did that in the past too. I used to make my ex girlfriend jealous because she desired me more when she thought she could lose me to another girl. At some point, she hit back and she flirted with another guy in front of me and told my best friend, in front of me, that she would date him if she hadn’t been in a relationship with me. We had a toxic relationship. What a mess! I gave up on dating after that.

1 yJealousy is fine, even can add spice to an otherwise boring relationship. The issue that comes into play is how well you each handle jealousy. If one or both of you are emotionally childish and allow jealousy to consume you, then it's already doomed for both of you. Trust is essential for jealousy to be kept in check. A lot of poly and cuckold couples could tell you the same, jealousy can be hot, but can also be explosive if not handled with care.
10 Reply I agree with Love Doc Brad. Yes, it's a sign that something close to you is important. So just a little jealously is ok. But when it starts to ruin the relationship and you begin to mistrust your partner all together--it's a sign you have trust issues and you'll end up losing the person.

1 yThere's no inherently good or bad behaviors in a relationship. What is good or bad, however, is the reward/punishment system - that needs to be well executed. If my Mistress smacks my hand with a riding whip whenever I express jealousy of her other guy friends, then I won't do it any more.
02 Reply- 1 y
There are bad behaviors. If your mistress cuts off your ding a ling you don’t simply thank her
- 1 y
That's a serious criminal offense, not a relationship behavior.
No it's not good. Jealousy is just insecurities and pettiness. Lack of confidence, which is the opposite of sexy. And it shows a huge lack of trust. Jealousy is referred to as the "green eyed monster" for a reason.

If a mate spends too much time with or is too close with an opposite sex person then maybe you two should split for incompatible values/boundaries.
