It's the rare exception where a great relationship "just happens", and even then, the people involved have usually done things to prepare for it.

The vast majority of the time, when someone gets something they value, and has meaning to them, they have worked for it. The "luckiest" people you will ever meet are those who worked really hard develop the skills, experience, and contacts to get into "lucky" situations. And most people who wait for things to "just happen" wait their whole lives and have very little that "just happens" for them.

No, I don't. I think that relationships require an element of risk-taking on both sides. Someone who is so passive that they assume "it'll just happen if it's meant to" is abdicating some level of initiative and responsibility in the direction their life takes.

We cannot force things to happen. However, we can practice awareness and taking initiative in smaller things. That way, when our big moments arrive, we are prepared from a hundred small moments in life.

I do believe what’s meant for you will never miss you but I apply that to the good and the bad. some relationships are meant to fail especially early in life regardless of how much you love them. They serve as lessons and/or karma. After I got out of my abusive relationship I used to wish I never met him and wondered how my life and I would have been without our paths crossing but I know now if it wasn’t him it would have been another jackass just like him cause I was willing to put up with too much even prior to meeting him. I don’t believe it’s a coincidence who you get attached to, and if you don’t acknowledge the parts of you that attracted them you’ll get the same lesson in a different person.

I picked "somewhere in between". For the most part I do believe that relationships that are meant to be will happen.

HOWEVER, there are things you can do to prevent it. For example, not taking care of your health. People can instinctively tell if someone does not take care of themselves and it is a turn off. This doesn't mean you have to be the perfect body image, but it DOES mean you have to at least try to build healthy habits to live longer.

Another big one, which I have been guilty of, is staying home all the time. It is impossible to meet new people if you just go to work and home and that's it.

The easiest thing in the world to say is " ____________ will happen IF it's meant to be", and then do nothing. So ultimately, I believe there will be no relationships at all when people "do nothing" to make them happen. Whether they fail or succeed is irrelevant.
