I love Snapchat! But wow, secret stories, chats deleting after reading, pics and videos viewable only once. Did the creator deliberately create thos app to aid cheaters and other "bad" people using it and covering their tracks! Knowing this, would you be suspicious of your significant other using or having it? Would you find it suspicious if their messages were set to instant delete?
319 opinions shared on Relationships topic. Umm yes!
ghost app was the first main app as go to for sexting… the instant delete pictures and all. Fast messaging and this and that. Cute flirty filters (original dog filters). And cute- drawing attention to appearance- avatars.
It’s like mating ritual.
display oriented
and it’s like an app for quick hook up or so.
Not intended for that but it became the first app allowing for that so it’s kinda known for it.
This is why it shouldn’t be trusted.
it’s just simply part of the app history! And popularity of it now.
It can always be harmless and used for friends and fun like youthful app with nice aesthetics and it does have the mini games on it. It is very fun and filters were funny and silly, but it shouldn’t be trusted with some people especially if prior to the relationship the partner was a bit of a play boy/girl, or used it primarily for sexual stuff.
If they have say family on there as well and stuff and innocent snap history like with memories and stuff then MAYBE it could be trusted but I wouldn’t.
Every couple should discuss this between and for themselves.
Hope this helps, best to you!

If in a relationship my boyfriend asked me to delete Snapchat, I would but only if he deleted Instagram as well. I think Instagram makes it way easier to cheat than Snapchat anyway, but I wouldn't ask him to delete it just because of my insecurities, unless he asked me to delete something first. Even then, I would think he doesn't trust me enough.

1 yAll social media is cheater’s paradise, even just going to the bar is a cheater’s paradise, or perhaps even a strip club or whatever…
The fact is, if you don’t trust your SO then maybe you shouldn’t be together or try some sort of reassurance compromise that doesn’t sacrifice one or the other’s happiness/fulfillment (in general by the way)
Snapchat is a stupid app, I’ve seen friends & associates use it and they have SOs so… I just don’t see it as cheater Heaven unless they have the temptations to utilize it in that way which take away one cheater’s way of cheating they’ll find another.

We both have snapchat still. Also if you can't trust someone with that app then you just can't trust them, so have they given you not to trust them or are you being overbearing and jealous over nothing?

The aim here is to dive into the ever-enticing world of Snapchat and its reputation as a playground for the not-so-faithful. Ah, the allure of disappearing messages! It's like a magician's best trick for those looking to keep their escapades under wraps. Sure, Snapchat has its perks for sending goofy faces and fleeting moments, but when it comes to trust in a relationship, it's all about transparency. If your significant other is using Snapchat and insists on messages vanishing faster than Houdini, it's enough to raise an eyebrow or two, don't you think?
Trust is the sexiest foundation any relationship can have, but if you're feeling like Sherlock every time they’re snapping, maybe it's time to have a heart-to-heart. Open communication beats playing detective any day. So, if their Snapchat habits make you uncomfortable, bring it up with all the charm and sincerity you possess! Remember, it's not about the app; it's about the actions. Keep those lines of communication as open and enduring as a never-ending Snapchat story.10 Reply

1 yA cheater is a cheater. Like my grandmother always said doesn’t matter what you do, what fancy safe you have. A thief is always going to find a way to steal. I haven’t used Snapchat really ever. I only got it bc my cousin begged me to at the time bc it was new at the time. However I rarely used it. I only use it to save pictures I haven’t put on my laptop yet or use a filter not on insta. I would be okay if my SO had one there’s other ways and other signs that give away if someone’s a cheater.
10 Reply I don't use Snapchat. I think I had it for like a month because everyone kept telling me to get it but it wasn't for me. I didn't like that it deleted things. But with it's features I can see how it would be useful to cheat. I probably wouldn't date someone who used it. There are many different social media platforms to use to talk/interact with people so why bother unless they needed one that deleted things. Which is a red flag. I think I'm just too old for all that drama.

Haha yh i was like that too. Years ago, didn't see the point and had it like a week. Thought it fun for the kids. But now I love it. I just see how it can be misused. Well not just see. My crush is secret messaging me now since his girlfriend was checking out his phone and i thought it was him and messaged. He hadn't told me he was back with his girlfriend!

I don't know, but I get a lot of women trying to get me to join their OnlyFans on there. 1 yI don't use snapchat. I have friends that have it. Actually both of them do. And both of them asked me if I had it. I told Dessah that I didn't but I know Monti has it she didn't care. And when I told Monti that Dessah had it but I didn't he legit ignored that part and kept wondering if I had it. A bit odd now that I'm typing this.

Well don't do anything like that at your age. My 12 year old daughter uses snap. It is very fun with filters and makes u look really good. But only share with friends! Like actual school friends. And just be wise. I don't add random people on snap. Just people I've talked to elsewhere first. Like if made a friend on here.
- 1 y
LOL, yea... I know them both in person. I go to church with them. My cousin, Dessah, always wants to talk to me but we don't see each other a lot... and it's less now that school started again. And Monti is my other friend. When he brought it up he was trying to show me this mexican girl that he claimed was his cousin. I didn't really care but in his eyes I guess I was jealous and he was like "It's not like you're jealous... cause she's not my girlfriend." and thing is I wasn't thinking that at all. But hey... he can do him, I don't care about the girl anyways. Plus she looked at least 25 years old.
- 1 y
I like him... but my parents don't.
1 yYea, because what are you snapping at our grown age? 🤡
The trip you took to the DMV to renew your drivers license? Yourself working to pay your bills? looool
If he has Snapchat while I am in a relationship with him, I probably assume he was up to something.
01 Reply- 1 y
I love the filters and playing around taking snaps. I'd wanna use it to send my partner sexy pics. And haha I do put on my story having lunch out and going gym stuff. But in a relationship I do think it would be very tricky. We would both have to be totally open showing our friend list!
I would not trust them to have it but I certainly wouldn’t stop them. I give my SO every opportunity, and piece of information that they would need to hurt me, because I want to know how they will use it. Trust them with everything and see how well they respond. That’s the only way you will know their true intentions.

You aren't a dinosaur lol if anything you are vintage, have an age enough to see decades which normally vintage is 20 years or older but newer than 100 years, you also have an old school vibe to you and are high in value, vintage 😆
What is MSN tho? Sounds like another kik lol - 1 y
Awww that is a really cute way to be calling someone old lmao. It is something similar to kik but better. We even had the nudge feature which was sent to annoy the other person (it sort of "shaked" the entire conversation and made an annoying sound)
No clue if this link will work, but I will try:
- 1 y
Ey I didn't say old, old would be antique, vintage is just not brand new 😌😂
I can see the link, now that looks old, ey nothing can be more annoying than the noises faxes used to make, now that was pure annoyance, put me in a room full of those at the same time and it makes a perfect torture technique 😂 - 1 y
I am officially your GAG grandma.
THAT IS BECAUSE IT IS OLD 🤣. And true yeah true, imagine sleeping at night with the computer on and the entire screen starts shaking and you hear the annoying, loud sound from the speakers because someone decided to annoy you at that time. You could also nudge someone for a long time and yeah that indeed could be used as a torture device 😅 - 1 y
That would make you a young grandma lol
But who leaves their computer on, sounds like a quick way to overheat your computer by leaving it on, I'm someone that turns off their computer so I don't see such noises being a problem but maybe I'm being all cocky cause I've never heard the noise, imagine if it worked even if you turned off the computer lol
1 yI wouldn't even want to date a man who uses Snapchat. Gives me eww vibes for some reason... but given what I've heard, no I don't think it's a good idea either partner uses the social feature
04 ReplyYeah, I would be fine with Facebook and X. My boyfriend doesn't do any social media except for X. But I would be OK if he got on Facebook again.
He is 45 and says he's too old for snap and too much of a private person for Instagram

05 Reply- 1 y
There are other ways to do that like a zoom and many others. Snapchat is literally just an app for nudes. If a girl asks to snapchat, I already know she shares nudes with others on the regular.
- 1 y
Well there ya go. Not hating on ya and you're free to live as ya want. But I personally just wouldn't trust girls that use Snapchat. I had my phase of using it myself, so I know all the ins and outs of it. I have permanently deleted my account on it.

Just because something gets "erased" so you can't see it doesn't mean it isn't still on their computers. It can still be stored it's just not visible to you.
- 1 y
@RingOfFire not with snap. It tells you if the other person saves or snapshots the screen. And I'm pretty sure Snapchat states they do not store conversations.
- 1 y
Even if they state that they don't, that doesn't mean they don't. Law enforcement can require them to.
- 1 y
It's a bad idea to ever post anything online that you would not want someone else to see or hear because chances are there is a permanent copy of it somewhere.

03 Reply- 1 y
Well you can use any app to cheat. Not just Snapchat.
- 1 y
So what I'm saying is, that it's unreasonable to be freaked out by it. I'm not personally using Snapchat cause I hate the interface. But that's personal preference. not an indicator that I'm not a cheater.
I think so bc I found it very odd when this married guy one time asked me if I had snap chat, I never asked why he needed it but I said no I don’t have it bc I actually didn’t, so I found it strange
00 ReplyI tried it for a month but it was so stupid, I felt my IQ going down the few times I even attempted to use it. I eventually deleted it.
03 Reply- 1 y
Haha I had a friend all into it years ago. I thought it dumb too (Pics that give you a doggy tongue and ears 🙄). I kept it like a week then deleted it too.
But now I love it. There are lots of very sexy filters. Love demon and angel ones. There's also cool photo features for posting about your day. I'm not a fan of Instagram so I've no idea about that... but Snapchat is way more fun than the ancient Facebook for staying in touch and posting fun things.
It's really not that essential tho. Unless you want to date or flirt.

02 Reply- 1 y
I went on after a kid showed me Musical. ly and Snapchat in 2017 and you could record yourself with funny faces. But as far as peoole on there, and all I could see were csrtoon people I didn't know. No actual photos. Nothing. Like avatars. I used to record funny videos to save to my phone and make videos.
So @Crimsyjo why do you use it? Are you in a committed relationship?
05 Reply- 1 y
I'm single. And I love using it. But when I did have a boyfriend a few months ago I took it off my phone for a bit and I was missing it. It makes me feel good taking pics that make me feel good. And I wanted my boyfriend to give me compliments- but started missing what i normally got from guys on my snap. It's kind of toxic really. I was only with my boyfriend 3 months. I think if we had been good and things going well tho I would have had to fully say goodbye to my snap. I have guys on there I have slept with. Which I was open about to my boyfriend and he was generally cool about it as long as they respected I was in a relationship. But again... it's a slippery slope!!
- 1 y
Yeah exactly!! I've done it before too. Lost friends because I've instantly given them up for a new relationship that didn't last. So I don't like ending my connections just like that. I do try to be transparent tho. I told all the guys I was in a relationship now. And I stopped sending anything risky pic wise. But I have some guys with gfs that I just chat to and enjoy the communication about dating, relationships and life.
