In a marriage or committed relationship, who is responsible for planning for the anniversary?

Both absolutely! Any real relationship is equal effort unless one of the parents stays home. Then I think the person staying home should be planning things like this.

If you want a healthy marriage both people need to be giving one another the same attention. Not expecting one to do all the heavy lifting while offering little to none in return.

Just remember that every marriage is different and both people need to discuss what they’re wanting before they tie the knot. If both people play different roles though (at least if they want to be happy) they need to be putting the same effort in different roles.

Both! I don't know I think both parties should hep plan the wedding, and equally the anniversary. I would want us to go somewhere we both would love to visit. My partner and I have very similar interests, so I know I could probably plan a fun trip we would both enjoy, but its more special when we both get to plan the dream trip we always wanted to go on. :)

LOL. There's no way to wrangle out of remembering an anniversary my friend. What I'd suggest is you just get each other gifts on the day, but every landmark anniv (1, 5, 10, 15, etc.) you have a nice gathering that you plan jointly.

Going out for dinner, or doing something you both love is good enough. Even if its something as small as buying each other's favourite dessert
