Is it fair to dump my boyfriend that's relying on a bible for parenting?

Even though my boyfriend and I have been dating for 4 months, the difference seems major by now. I'm actually an agnostic and don't focus on just one source. I tend to like analyzing things and have open options.

My boyfriend is too much into the bible and that if he became a parent, he'll go by what the bible says. He thinks that's the only, single way. I have a feeling that if this progresses further and we had kids, they would grew up confused.

I 1,000% believe it parenting biblically and for me that's non-negotiable, but I also plan to rely heavily on the Montessori technique when raising my children. And I think that's very biblical, as it prioritizes self-value, self-esteem, knowledge, and problem solving skills.

So, is he against any method of parenting that does not solely stem from the Bible, or is he against any method of parenting that goes against the Bible?

If it's the former, yes I think you should dump him. The Bible repeatedly says to pursue knowledge and wisdom. Daniel 1:17 is a great example "To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of ALL kinds of literature and learning." To reject something purely because it does not soley stem from the Bible directly goes against the Word of God.

If it's the latter, no, I don't think it's fair to dump him for wanting to not use a parenting method that goes against the Bible.

Also, you can break up with someone at any time. There doesn't have to be a reason.

I agree with him, Bible says to find someone that also believes, I would imagine it's to avoid such incompatibility as you've just witnessed, it seems breaking up was the best thing to do when it comes to incompatibility, he should find someone else that believes and you I guess someone else that doesn't

Only 4 months in? Yeah, be done with that. Not because you don’t love him but having different views on religion or how to raise your kids is like if you want to get married and he doesn’t, or you want kids and he doesn’t. There are fundamental values we have as individuals that we shouldn’t sacrifice or compromise for the sake of love. You and him would do nothing but butt heads over how your kids are raised, and in most cases you’d probably lose that fight. Don’t sign up for that position in life.

Yup more than fair. He's already doing you a favor by telling you early who he is. Not only do your values don't match but those are the bible fanatics that contradict themselves saying a baby is a blessing/gift from a god and then turned into ''spare the rod, spoil the child'' mantra. I'm not sure what parenting by Bible would look like but if the two of you have defined and different views on parenting, that's going to cause friction between the two of you.
You've only been together for four months so maybe there is time to flesh out how this would work but if you're seeing red flags, maybe your subconscious is already telling you something.
Given your age, you're right to be cautious before a child is created.
