I think revenge in general is pointless and counter productive. There are two possible choices, neither is revenge.

1.) Try to work through it. Understand the the other person's point of view. Are you not giving them what they need? Are you blind and deaf to their cries for something else. Are you both willing to put in the effort to change?

2.) This whole relationship was a mistake. You're wasting your time. The person is just a lying cheating asshole who doesn't respect you and this pattern is only going to repeat itself over and over again. There's no point in sticking around to see how this ends. Just end it and move on to a better situation for yourself.

Revenge, spending your time plotting to "get even", never gets you even. It just wastes your time and makes you bitter obsessing over something you can't change. And I'm not saying you need to forgive. I'm saying just let it go. For your own sake.

Choose the best path forward for you and start moving on down the road. That means no contact. Silence. They don't have any way to invade your life further. Maybe that "not knowing" will be some small punishment in itself. Maybe not. Who cares. Eyes on the road ahead, not the rearview mirror.

It’s one of the stupidest things someone can do that makes you no better then the person you’re cheating on. People of integrity leave relationships they don’t cheat. The best thing is to move on eventually.

But what can happen? Someone will use you cheating on them to make you look bad as well as humiliate you. Another situation is one person becomes more attached then the other. Pregnancy…. As well as getting yourself or someone else hurt by a jealous abusive partner.

It’s a pathetic thing to do and signals that someone isn’t ready for a relationship. When other people who are relationship material see that you’ve done this they are running the opposite direction. Even if your partner is shitty

The best revenge is to break up or to limit your acts of kindness towards the other person if you do not break up. If you stop baking cookies for them during holidays, and you stop driving to their in laws to visit them during anniversaries, that will send a strong message.
