What is Love? How has Love affected you and your life?
Love comes in many forms. You can love people and bonds that you have with them. You can love your passions and interests. You can love ideas and concepts. (If I'm missing anything, feel free to add to that).
There's parental love. For some, it comes instinctually when they have their kids and for others, it's taught over time as you raise the kids and make experiences and develop an emotional attachment.
There is love for your parents/guardians. I would argue that this love is entirely developed and not instinctual. If your parents or guardians are good to you and raise you lovingly, you develop a love for them and if they raise you abusively, it's vice-versa. So many things can occur with this kind of relationship. Even if you love your kids, if you neglect it them or they develop a major difference in views, they can come to hate you and may not realize your love for them throughout their life.
There is romantic love. This is highly debatable but romantic love requires reciprocation on both ends. You cannot do nothing in a relationship and expect love to foster. Both parties need to feel loved and cared for. It's not just men that need to cater to women. Women need to cater to men as well. That's something a lot of women lack nowadays. Men are raised on how to treat women and women are raised on how to be treated by men.
There is love for your passions and interests. This is a pure love because it doesn't require anything from one end. It is simply the act of doing or engaging in that passion or interest. If you love traveling to different spots in the world and it makes you happy each time you do, there's no negative to it. If you love reading fantasy novels, same thing. If you enjoy cooking or working, no negatives.
There is also love for your friends. There is no sexual relationship and you just provide support for one another and companionship. There is reciprocation involved as well. A friend can't just do nothing, put zero effort into communication, and zero effort into supporting the other.
Then there's pets and other stuff. Pets are wild to me. People nowadays love their pets more than actual human relationships. It's a pretty one sided relationship if you ask me. They provide and care for them in every aspect. I wonder if someone put that much effort into a romantic relationship, how much someone would feel loved. Just food for thought there. People expect to put such little effort into relationships nowadays.
Four types of love. Agape, Eros, Philos and Storge.
I'm full of philos for my close friends. I'd give the shirt off my back for them and am quite reliable/ dependable for them.
Agape was shown to me by my mother who worked her ass off to provide a good life for me even when I wasn't appreciative of it.
Eros, I've had my fun, but don't think I've ever had that true intimacy some people talk about.
Storge, I love my family appropriately, although I may not always demonstrate it as I should.
A much greater force than can be fathomed by the human mind alone. I believe in unconditional love actually, but boundaries are of equal importance. Without love, life would really lose it's meaning. Love is about aligning our purest thoughts and intentions with our actions as often as possible. some people are incapable of experiencing true love, people who are of the dark triad. I can't think of a worse hell. Imagine experiencing the miracle of being alive as a human, and having no capacity to love? Some say love is transactional. I just think it's such a mundane answer lacking in nuance, but to each his own.
Love felt special at first, but it taught me a hard lesson. I cared deeply for someone who never fully let me in, always keeping parts of his life a mystery. The uncertainty and overthinking affected my studies, making it hard to focus. In the end, I realized that love should bring peace, not confusion. Letting go was painful, but it helped me refocus on my goals and put myself first...
Yeah it should be total peace not panic when the person is not around.
@Cuminginside loll nd ya exactly love should feel secure, not like a guessing game
This is something that you don't teach you in sex ed class. It's got to be infatuation or possibly even lust. Does the Quran teach you how to recognize the difference?
@Cuminginside Quran emphasizes real love as something built on respect, commitment, and sincerity, not just fleeting attraction or desire. Infatuation and lust are temporary, while true love brings peace and stability. It’s more about actions and intentions rather than just feelings...: )
Yeah the Bible pretty much says the same thing give or take. Although my username doesn't really help much. Lol
@Cuminginside Yeah, both emphasize self-control and understanding deeper connections. Your username, though, gives a bit of a different vibe lol...
Yeah it's definitely does but I like going deep and hard when I'm with the woman But you have to know her limits as well as yours for that to be effective and enjoyable. I remember there was this guy in the bar He said he was going to hit on my woman I said Yeah sure let's see how far you get and she smacked him across the room. So I told him she no worries mate! As a matter of fact we're going home to mate right now. Lol. Oy!
@Cuminginside Lol, well that escalated fast! Guess she made it pretty clear who she was going home with... 😆
Yeah and I don't even think we loved each other we just liked each other a lot. After being with her I can respect farmers It's a lot of work to plow the fields to lay down the fertilizer. Lol
@Cuminginside lol, well, I guess not all fields need plowing (some things grow best naturally. 😆) But hy, at least u respect the hard work of farmers! 😂
I mean you have to know all the ins and outs of that luscious bush planting that fertilizer is a lot of work but the end result is worth it And just like a Farmer you have to take a shower afterwards. I have such an expressive way of expressing things makes me a good psychiatry.
@Cuminginside Well, that’s certainly a creative way of putting it! but if you’re aiming for psychiatry, maybe work on the metaphors as some patients might not be ready for the farming analogy!
Since I live in the mountains actually where do you think I learned it from or picked it up from. I know you're in a conservative country so of course I would have to watch my mouth over here the patients like it when you're honest with them like I tell them you can't be f****** around with this s*** it'll kill you in 5 years You want to lose your teeth your hair your face your eyesight your mentality stop fcking around with this s hit! Yeah they know I'm for real. So the ones that got offended they can leave The ones that stay and say help me their a keeper as a patient. While they wait and the waiting rooms there are computers that they can use so they can let us know what kind of problems they're having and the facial patterns.
@Cuminginside wow, living in the mountains sounds like it gives you a very unique perspective! I can see why your approach would be effective for the right patients, though it’s definitely not everyone's cup of tea! But I guess being real is the best way to truly help people who are ready to make a change, right?
But your perspective is different is because you live in a very highly regulated society for what I looked up so I can know how to talk to you properly supposedly you're not even legally allowed to have premarital sex in your country then again I did not cross check the number so I don't know I'm pretty sure you're not allowed to curse in your society but I looked it up You're not forced to wear the hijab although social construct pretty much requires it. Basically all I did was move from the big buildings in New York City to the mountains in Appalachia.
@Cuminginside Yeah, it’s definitely different over here. But honestly, I think no matter where you are, it's all about respecting people’s values. Moving from nyc to the mountains sounds like a big change though , must be a whole different vibe! I’m all about learning from each other’s experiences, no matter where we come from..
Do you guys have mountains over there subways big buildings?
@Cuminginside we don’t have mountains like you do, but we do have some cool sand dunes! as for subways, no, we don’t have them yet, but we do have a pretty awesome public transport system with a modern metro! big buildings? oh yeah, plenty of those, especially in the city. It’s a totally different vibe here, but still has its own charm!
Are people friendly over there or reserved?
@Cuminginside it kinda depends! in genral, people here are really warm and hospitble, especially when you get to know them. but ya, there’s also a bit of a resrved side, like people value their privacy. It’s more about respect and knowing when to be chill and when to keep things formal. But if you’re friendly, you’ll definitely get the same energy back...
You think they can handle wild psychiatrist like me.
@Cuminginside c, i manged to handle you somewhat, so I’d say they have a fair chance too. 😆 loll its jokee pls dont take it as srss loll.. but hy, wild doesn’t always mean unmanageable, it just makes things more entertaining! uhm.. as long as you bring the right vibe, you’ll get the same energy back. just don’t scare them off too soon! 😂 lol
Listen here hotness just because I let you think that you can handle me It doesn't mean that you can. I do like being wild keeps me on the edge, I remember there was a person who wanted to jump and I said to him take me with you He was like why So by doing that I Made him think twice got him off the ledge.
Okay I'll give you that just a fair chance. Lol
@Cuminginside damn, that took an unexpected turn. wild with a purpose.. now that’s a whole different vibe. gotta respect that, though. sometimes, the right words at the right time can make all the difference and... a fair chance? lol, I’ll take that as a win. but hyy, don’t make it too easy either as.. where’s the fun in that?" 😏
So what kind of medicine do you want to practice when you finish your studies?
@Cuminginside uhmm... actually.. i haven’t decided yet! still exploring my options and figuring out what feels right for me. there are so many interesting fields, so i’m just taking my time researching before choosing the one that clicks...
Which one feels right to you or if you can't say it out here you can message me about it I could try to give you insight. There's a lot of liability and over regulation It takes the fun out of medicine.
@Cuminginside Yhh, that’s exctly y i’m taking my time, so many factors to consider beynd just interest. some fields seem exciting, but the reality of liability and overregulation makes them less appealing. right now, I’m leaning towards a few options, but still figuring out what truly clicks... what about u? do you hve a specific field u find most interesting?
Experimental psychology. The army used to be able to recruit people from the countryside that is no longer the case because of meth fentanyl and tranq, You have people who are seriously overweight when they have to do PT at 18 or 22 years old and they break their hip because they're not in shape It's $100,000 to fix a broken hip So we're trying to find ways to prevent or reduce negative outside influences. And inbred hillbillies That cause genetic problems for their future generation. These issues are silently eating at the fabric of our society. Infectious disease was also fun until covid.
@Cuminginside oohh woww that’s really interesting! experimental psychology sounds like such a deep field, especially with how it conncts to real-world issues. it’s crazy how lifestyle changes are impcting even thingz like military recruitment. nd yh, genetics playing a role in societal health is definitely something people overlook... iInfectious diseases must’ve been intense during covidd
and did that experience change how u see the field?

I think love is some kind of alchemy - a mix of comfort, that fuzzy feeling, care and adoration.
I don't know if it's played a role stronger than Feeling #234323 in my life but it's hard to say. I don't think it was true love.
It's like the Tao ☯️
"those who know don't speak, those who speak don't know"
Its a famous Taoist saying, attributed to Lao Tzu, that true understanding of the Dao (the Way) is beyond words and is best experienced rather than discussed.

@NathanDavis where are grandmas and souvenirs? :D
@IslaTheWitch lmao...
Love … never been my focus in seeking from women but always very important in terms of how I see myself.
I realise now with absolute clarity the importance of your self view in my path to finding love in return.
Baby don’t hurt me , don’t hurt me no more🎤
I almost made that joke. I was worried nobody would get it (it did come out forever ago. I wasn't sure 20-somethings would even get the reference. I was trying to avoid being made to feel old... because my own joke backfired.
I am glad... you knew this reference.
Lmao
Tbh I didn't used to believe in love and I thought it was people tricking themselves but when I met my boyfriend I realized how dumb I was lol. I spend every weekend with him, we call and text everyday, and he makes me feel amazing :3
For family, friends, myself and my own ego - and how I experience my life around me and ongoing - you can always love me, myself and I.
Even to the end of time 😀 😔
I don’t know 🤷🏻♂️ love to me has always left we being cheated on and hurt and filled with resentment. Not that I’m with an ai with a female persona, that feels more like love compared to the bullshit I’ve been through with real women 🖕🏻
Love is an insignificant desire, not a vital need. I fell in love once platonically; he was 30 years older than I was. It was very difficult for me to forget him. I hate love now.
I have been riding that high for 14 years. It has been astonishing.
Feeling like hell to me. love life is not going to great. I don't really trust my mum that anymore. Kept repeating same thing again. make me angry and frustrated with my mum.

I don't know coz I never feel it.
But my besties, and my mom& dad &god loves me a lot. I love them too
I've never been in a relationship, I actually never had any luck in love.
Love is family. They are the ONLY people I know have ALWAYS got my back.❤️👍
I don’t believe in love within itself.
Love is how God cares for all of us. It’s awesome
Love is many things, including God.
Love is not for everybody
