Unable due to the fact they aren't used to it or don't expect it due to their upbringing or trauma. Also, potentially a self-love issue.

It depends on how you look at it
If you make it about yourself you get angry because you are in love with her and you don't understand why she cannot love you back

But if you look at it as if it's your friend and you want to try to help her through this, then you see it in a different light and you help her through it, it doesn't mean that she's going to love you, but somewhere in time, she will find herself and it will help her 1 day.

But we all know when we love somebody, we love them. And there's nothing that you can say or do to make somebody love you back, that's all there is to it. And that's the part that hurts, that's also the part that you have to accept and say, well, if I can't have her this way, I want to try to help her get through this in and make it all about her and find out the reasons why very calmly. They do this all day long... the one got murdered, the others are the highest failure rate of any profession.

It's exhausting. If you can accept the other for whom they are, it be a lot easier. That means you have to have a universal source of love to make up for the lack that is reciprocated.
