Should I forgive my boyfriend for lying with such a dark excuse?

So me and my boyfriend had plans... he canceled last weekend... he said he can't make it. I called him and I asked if everything was OK, He said he had a dream of a car accident and I got hit by a truck. So today he admitted to making the story up to get out of the plans. Im really upset that he would lie and make up a story of me getting hurt or even killed. Thats evil. Would you forgive him? Im pretty much done.

How long have you known this person and why do you think he couldn't be honest with you if he didn't want to go? If it's a short term relationship, you can certainly be "done." If there's more negative issues between you two, this might be the last straw in your eyes.

Before considering forgiving, I would consider looking at why he chose that lying route to cancel, because it's a manipulative one chosen. I would also look at if his communication is often like that.

You’re not overreacting at all. That’s a messed up lie, and the “I dreamed you died” excuse is manipulative and dramatic, almost like emotional lovebombing in reverse. If he’ll use your death as a joke to get out of plans, that’s a character issue.

The fact that he can easily lie to you , is a reason you should dump him , people that think it’s ok to lie to someone they claim to love , doesn’t truly love the person they are with period , because if they did truly love you, they wouldn’t lie period. Without honesty and respect in a relationship with someone , you really don’t have anything , you just have someone that enjoys the convenience of you and the thought of being in a relationship. So do yourself a favor and no longer waste your time with someone like that , there are way better people out there that don’t lie. Honesty is one of my preferences when dating a girl , , if she isn’t honest with me , then she is wasting her time , because I will not commit to a dishonest girl period. I will only be with a girl that respects me and is honest and loyal to me , the same way I am to her , otherwise she is just a convenience that I will kick to the curb where she belongs

If you're going to be mad at your boyfriend, be mad that he lied to you. Whether the lie was dark or not doesn't really matter.
