Should I wait for my boyfriend to figure things out or move on?

So my boyfriend is in dilemma lately. He told me let's take space for now , because he is stressed of getting a job asap and taking responsibility, so he told me that let's stay friends with less contact for now and if he is able to get a good job he will marry me , cuz if he is not able to get a job asap he can't ask my parents? but the thing is he wants to keep it lowkey rn incase he doesn't get a good job, and is not able to marry me , we won't be hurt much !! Should I wait for him or just leave? also he doesn't want me to go away , he told me to give him sometime to figure out what he wants to do further? but he can't take relationship responsibility for now and can't give me any time also..

The question is really for you. If you love him and want to be with him, give him some time, but it a lot of time, to work things out.

Otherwise, let him know that you're moving on. That might spur him to figure things out.

A relationship shouldn’t be a responsibility. It should be a mutual partnership. I understand he’s going through some things right now and he’s trying to protect you, but if he really cares he’ll make it work out now. in my opinion I don’t think there’s a need for a “break”. If there’s an issue that needs to be resolved and you both still want to be together, then work on it while you’re together, like partners. Even if he got the job asap, realistically you couldn’t just get married asap either. Having a job would be a great step to getting married, but that wouldn’t happen for a while due to finances I would imagine. If he’s not willing to be in a relationship with you while maintaining everything you’ve said, I think it’s better to move on. If he can’t juggle those things now, as he/you guys get older, it’ll only get harder unfortunately.

I would leave him personally. He either wants to be in a relationship or not. There isn't an in between on that. If he can't adjust to stress situations and maintain the relationship, what is the next thing that will cause another break?

He wants to basically have you on standby if he feels like getting back together.
