Never had a boyfriend before and lonely?

I have never had a boyfriend before. I feel so lonely too. Like I see how these couples together and stuff and I have never had one. When I go to parties with my friends, they always have dates and I never have one. Is this normal? Has any one else been in this situation?

Do you try to make a effort around guys? Are you making yourself available? Often girls think the guy is just going to magically come along but you need to do some work yourself too. Guys aren't just going to knock on your door one day. If you really want to do something about your situation then you need to start going out more, start looking up flirting techniques and you need to make sure you are confident enough because dating without confidence won't cut it. It's all about getting out of your comfort zone and working towards your goal. In life you need to take risks and do things you may feel nervous about but the more you put yourself out there the better and easier it becomes.

Yes I do. I talk to a lot of guys and stuff like that but it just seems like they are never interested in me. I go out a lot where there are a lot of guys.

What do they do that makes you think they're not interested? I'm just trying to figure out how to help you because I want to. I know how bad it sucks to feel alone.

Like most the time they will just like talk to me but then move on and flirt with other girls. I have no clue what I'm doing wrong.

i don't know if its normal, but I feel the same way. I have never had a boyfriend before, (probably because I am a major tomboy) and the only boy I have ever had a crush on moved away before I could do anything about it. I think what helped me to kind of get out of feeling so lonely was to actually write down the pros and cons of having a boyfriend. Like pro - not being a 3rd wheel, con - haveing someone else I have to deal with, and so on. I found that the more I thought about it the more I liked being single. I wish you luck in the dating world, but enjoy the time you have single :^)

I am still in this situation. I think it's completely fine if you're single. If you are lonely though, make an effort to talk to guys and get them interested in you, while still being yourself and not changing who you are to impress them! Personally, I find it easy to get my lonely feelings out and other feelings about boys out by writing or singing a song that is about what I am feeling. So, find an outlet in which you can express your feelings, and just wait. There will be a guy who likes you for who you are and you won't be so lonely :)

Yeah that is true. I joke around with my mom and tell her that my only boyfriend is my horse.

I would not worry too much, relationships because about as much pain as pleasure. I am single at the moment, and I have interested people but I don't care. Enjoy your life, if you don't get a boyfriend for a long time it doesn't matter. Enjoy the single life, it can be just as fun.

Yeah...me too...I kinda suck at at this whole getting someone to like me/knowing if someone likes me thing/knowing what to do to progress anything/etc.

I focus on my friendships, family, things I love doing, and just generally embrace everything else in life being myself rather than getting all tied up about it.

Eyes are open to who could be out there, trying to stay patient, and working on the whole flirting skills thing in the meantime.
