Should I wait on my boyfriend if he's in jail?

Ok I been dating this guy off and on for the last 16yrs now but we never really got as serous as we wanted to he is a very nice guy respectful, open and honest, etc, well the problem is I never got serous with him because I was in a long term relationship for the last 11yrs well I recently got back in touch with the other guy I'm single now but he's in jail we been in contact with each other since 2005 he gets out 2010, he's not locked up because of some really bad crime but he's locked up he don't tell me lies or make promises to me just because he locked up however he do want us be together have a family etc, should I trust that he may have learned his lesson or should I check him out once he get out, to get himself together, like I say he's a good man but made one bad decision and it caught up with him, what would you do if you were me he been in jail since 2001,and has been doing well in their he work he never ask me to send him money he just ask that I write him very considerate person

He's serving 9 years, that's serious felony rap. Really doesn't matter WHAT he did sweetie... he still did it. Once, twice... who cares... HE's A FELON! He wants you to continue to keep in contact and write... because he's lonely. Maybe he does like you, but HE's IN PRISON! He's doing well in there and not asking you to send money because someone else he's talking to is sending it to him. He's talking a future with you... one day real soon (if he hasn't suggested it already) he's going to say that when he's released he wants to live with you. He needs to have a stable residence to come to or he's in jeopardy of finishing the rest of his bid in there (he's probably doing 85% of his conviction - I have a legal background so I know what I speak of sweetie). You've already invested way too much time on this man. I'm not one to plug books, but please try to pick up "Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man" by Steve Harvey. Yes, I said Steve Harvey. He's real and gives it to you straight. He's number #1 on the Best Seller list 5 weeks in a row... so he must be saying something right.

I'm sorry if I came across a little blunt, and perhaps rude... but too many women fall for men like this and I just don't want to see it happen to another one. SMOOCHIES AND LOVE!

Ok thanks I was thinking the same thing just needed a reality check that's all, from people who no you didn't com off to strong but some of your thoughts were incorrect for instense he has a business and a nice home to come home to, that has been maintained by his family so money isn't a issue with this particular guy, sorry, nor am I waitng on him I needed help deciding should I take a chance with him that's all thanks any way, Smoochies and Love!
