Elvis Aaron Presley

The King of Kings was born in Tupelo, Mississippi on January 8, 1935. He was an American singer and actor. Regarded as one of the most significant cultural icons of the 20th century, he is often referred to as the "King of Rock and Roll" or simply "the King".

The times he lived in

His career was active between 1953–1977. His career took place during a time when most people were literate. We have many photographs, videos, interviews, books, tapes, recordings and eye witnesses about Elvis and how he lived.

After his death

Just a few short years after his death we have many people claiming Elvis is walking the Earth (sound familiar?). We have many people claiming Elvis never really died (sound familiar?) We even have reports of an apparition of Elvis giving people spiritual and supernatural experiences (sound familiar?)

Books written about him

After Elvis died 2 books were written about his dietary habits just 15 years later: "Are you hungry tonight?" written in 1992 and "Fit for a King: The Elvis Presley Cookbook" also written in 1992. In both books they discuss how to make Elvis' beloved fried chicken. In "Are you hungry tonight?" they suggest 3/4 cup of flour, salt & paprika. In "Fit for a King: The Elvis Presley Cookbook" they suggest Elvis' chicken called for 1/2 cup flour and salt.

Both books contain glaring contradictions. 1/4 cup less flour and no paprika? Heretics! Now imagine trying to figure out the true Elvis chicken 2,000 years from now.

Would people worship Elvis 200 years from now?

Right now many people are still learning how to act, dress, talk and live the way Elvis did. They refer to him as the King and blindly follow his lifestyle even if it doesn't make sense. That is real worship. I'm reminded of Fallout New Vegas where the gang members view the Elvis School of Impersonation as a church.

Is Elvis God?

He could easily be the messiah. People are claiming miracles, people claim to see him after he died and people view his lifestyle as the ultimate philosophy. Ask yourself if this parallels any religions.
