Introduction:

I know this MyTake is going to really rough some feathers, but for some strange reason I felt inspired to write it. Often times you hear a person say that the reason they reject Jesus Christ and the gospel is because they were born into a culture where a certain religion has been established for centuries and sometimes thousands of years;

Therefore they simply can't switch to a different religion just because a person present the gospel of Jesus Christ to them or give whatever excuse they can come up with to reject the gospel. The Bible and the gospel unlike any other religions or Holy texts books like Isalm and the Quran, Hinduism etc or philosophies like Buddhism tackles head on mankind fallen sin nature to its roots and exposes their true intent to love sin, rebellion against God and live a lifestyle of sin.

And that's the primary reason people reject the Bible and gospel, because God's word the Bible exposes your filth and for what you truly are as a person at the core of your being.

Oh, That Sweet Taste Of Sin. How I Love It. ❤

Due to the fall and sin of Adam and Eve in garden of Eden we inherited the sin nature we are all born with. The sin virus is in all of us. We desire sin because it feels good to our inherited fallen nature. We like to rebel against God and not having to feel accountable to him, we like being filled with pride, ego, vanity, greed, selfishness, lewdness, sexual immoral, backbiting behind people's back, doing drugs and getting drunk etc. The Lord Jesus address the real reason why people don't want to follow him and hate him.

John 3:16-21:

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.

But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”

John 7:5-8:

For even His brothers did not believe in Him.

The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it that its works are evil.

You see, Jesus is the light of the world. He is what is truly righteous, just, fair and holy therefore mankind that loves sin hates what the Lord Jesus and gospel represents. People hate being put to shame. And God's word which is light will expose your true and sinful nature and intents and dark hidden corners in your heart and bring you to shame. Therefore you despise the Bible and Jesus Christ's gospel.

Hebrews 4:12-13:

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

Psalm 10:13:

Why do the wicked renounce God?
He has said in his heart,
“You will not require an account.”

Jeremiah 17:9-10:

“The heart is deceitful above all things,
And desperately wicked;
Who can know it?

I, the Lord, search the heart,
I test the mind,
Even to give every man according to his ways,
According to the fruit of his doings.

Your Pride Will Be Your Ruin.

If there is one sin God absolutely hates is the sin of pride. There are so many scriptures on about how God hates arrogance and a cocky demeanor and attitude that I won't post them all. Pride is what led Lucifer into rebellion against God. Every sin flows from the sin of pride such as rebellion, unthankfulness etc. Pride is the antithesis of submission and humility that God requires before him.

Micah 6:8:

He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justly,
To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God?

Proverbs 16:5:

Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord;
Though they join forces, none will go unpunished.

Proverbs 6:16-19:

These six things the Lord hates,
Yes, seven are an abomination to Him:
A proud look,
A lying tongue,
Hands that shed innocent blood,
A heart that devises wicked plans,
Feet that are swift in running to evil,
A false witness who speaks lies,
And one who sows discord among brethren.

Psalm: 5:4-6:

For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness,
Nor shall evil dwell with You.

The boastful shall not stand in Your sight;
You hate all workers of iniquity.

You shall destroy those who speak falsehood;
The Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.

See, your pride won't let you humble yourself before Almighty God and let his word expose your sins that you may be convicted by the Holy Spirit and repent and confess them before God.

Psalm 10:4:

The wicked in his proud countenance does not seek God;
God is in none of his thoughts.

The Sacrifice Of Letting Sin Go And Willing To Suffer For The Gospel.

It's pretty much easy to be a Christian here in the USA. From time to time we get attack by mainstream media for not desiring to be bake a cake for gays and lesbians weddings and by athiests and their stupidity which is so petty compared to what other Christians go through around the world in countries as North Korea, Yemen etc.

In other parts of the world being a Christian can be a living hell. Many Christians are thrown in prison for nothing other than being a Christian, beheaded and killed in horrible ways. Carrying your cross means willing to suffer and die for the gospel, willing to let your sins you like and love go for the gospel.

Many people are just not willing to pay the price of being a Christian and putting God before all; therefore they shy away from Christianity. Jesus warned what it cost to be his follower.

Luke 14:25-35:

Now great multitudes went with Him.

And He turned and said to them, “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.

And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.

For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it— lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish’?

Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand?

Or else, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks conditions of peace.

So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.

“Salt is good; but if the salt has lost its flavor, how shall it be seasoned?

It is neither fit for the land nor for the dunghill, butmen throw it out. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”

Conclusion:

You know deep down in your heart the Bible is God's word and Jesus Christ is the way unto slavation, but your sin that you foster, your pride and stony heart won't let you come to the gospel.

If a person ever shared the gospel in its purest form to you than you felt the Holy Spirit convict you of your sins and the truth of the gospel. You know it. Jesus said the Holy Spirit convict you of it.

John 16:8-11:

And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.

Matthew 18:2-3:

Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. 😊

EZ 20:25 God says that he intentionally gave out bad laws. (This means that God-given laws or commandments are sometimes suspect.)

LK 1:26-38 The angel who appears to Mary to foretell the birth of Jesus says that Jesus will be given the throne of David, that he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and that his kingdom will never end. (None of this took place nor can it now be fulfilled.)

MT 16:28, MK 9:1, LK 9:27 Jesus says that some of his listeners will not taste death before he comes again in his kingdom. This was said almost 2000 years ago.
(Note: This passage and many others indicate that Jesus was to come again in a relatively short period of time and not just "quickly" as present day Biblicists assert. All of his listeners are now dead, yet Jesus has not come again in his kingdom. All of the alleged words of Jesus put forth in the Bible are therefore suspect.)

MK 16:17-18 A believer can handle snakes or drink poison and not experience any harm.

I don't hate religions but the way how organized religions have become they're all corrupted in some form or way by now. Many liars and hypocrites are within religious organizations. Have we all simply forgotten about the priests and sexual abuse scandals all around the world? I bet some aren't even reported. But hey, believe whatever you want to believe, what more can I say. Religions, or specifically "organized" religions simply just aren't for everybody.

My biggest issues with all religions is because they all insist they are Always Right, and that any other variation or alternate religion or "deity" or higher being that some other culture or group believes is Always Wrong. The only exception might be Buddhism, I've never heard of them saying they are always the right way or true way.

Frequently the majority of any relgion that has a "god" always insist that they are the one and only true way, always having way too many contradictions. People had been hating each other fighting each other, killing each other since the beginning of time and religion is a huge factor to this. It's too much of this mentality that if you aren't in the same organized religion or group that share the same beliefs and worhsip or believe in the same "god" or "higher power", "deity" whatever as I or we do, then you are always wrong and you are against us. And so the perpetual conflict ensues between different religions. Some are more tolerant of others, but not many of them are.

And besides, the whole thing with "gods" and "deities", why do you believe and insist your "god" is the one and only true one? Other than because your version of the religion or the religious text that you had read insist that it is true? And so does other religions, they all insist their version of their book and text are true. What do you have to say about that? Doe that ever make you question if they merely simply just fabricated information and lies to manipulate people?

I believe a person needs to discover God within themselves. No one can force a person to believe or have faith. Once a person condemns another, passes judgment even if it is in regards to sin, they set themselves up as the adversary, and that in and of itself is what Satan is. Satan literally is the Hebrew word for adversary.

For me, religion is a very personal journey. Sure, we can surround ourselves with like-minded individuals who reflect our love and our values. That is why religious community is so effective in keeping the faith and sharing our love for each other and for God. However, at the end of the day, the inspiration, the Holy Spirit, these things are found within from where it must be drawn from.

There is a reason so many turn to God once they hit rock bottom, or when they are tested, or when they feel great shame and need to unload their burden, or when they feel that there is no hope and need to find something to turn to that is greater than their self-made egotistical identity.

Some people find God when they are on their death bed. Others find it when they are suffering from drug addiction or depression. Others find it while incarcerated.

What I have discovered is that all the words in the Bible, or any religious text, are just signposts. Markers that point to the truth, but the words themselves are not important. This is why Jesus was so adamant that the temple was nothing more than bricks and mortar. That is why Jesus was against following the letter of the law, but discovering the heart of it.

The Bible is a guide, but the truth is within us. WE ARE GOD. Within us, our very Being, is God. This is why Jesus was focused on forgiveness, because of the shame for our sin, that shame keeps us trapped, props up the ego, and the ego is like a shadow acting as a blanket to cover up the light of our Being.

He wasn't looking for us to seek forgiveness from some imaginary old man in the sky. That is the image that man imposed on God. He was looking for us to forgive OURSELVES and by extension to forgive others.

It is only through surrender, through forgiveness, that we can look at ourselves without judgment and to shed off the bonds of sin. Even the word sin is nothing but a signpost. We can call it insanity, we can call it unconsciousness, and it all points to the same truth.

Once we do that, we discover God. Not in the sky, not in the Bible, but within us, because we are him, and he is us.

There are 3 primary reasons why I'm not Christian:
1. Trinitarianism: Doesn't make sense to me; God having a son, who is also God Himself. I don't understand it.
2. Christian concept of the Original Sin: This whole death on the cross to absolve others from sin is just... I don't understand it either.
3. Religious hierarchy and sectarianism: A bunch of people hundreds of years ago got together and tried to agree on a unified belief system. One thing they all ultimately agreed on is to severely persecute anyone who does not adhere to Point 1 "Trinitarianism". It's a little more accurate to call Christianity by a different term: "Christian religions".

I don't hate Christianity or the Bible. I just don't adhere to them because they don't make sense to me. I agree with most of the values in Christianity, but the creed lacks unity or simplicity.

Look, the bottom line is that people may hate or reject a religion for one of many multitude of reasons. These include, but are not limited to: personal understanding, conviction, and experiences. If you are mistreated by people who are overtly Christian, you may have a negative view of Christianity, and therefore likely to reject it. It's not to say that some people actually don't fall in the category you described, but it seems like a very narrow view of people's motivations towards non-adherence or rejection.

It may be easy for you to understand, but it is most definitely not easy for me to understand. Not only does this not explain Trinitarianism, but I don't find it to be evidence of Trinitarianism. These are words that are written by an unknown individual (or individuals), and a completely different language, about someone they've never met. Additionally, in all of these quotes, Jesus never said that there is a trinity, or that he is worthy of worship. In the OT Adam and Solomon were described as "son of God", obviously in a metaphorical or spiritual sense. I think that Jesus is the same way. His words echo that of a mystic adhering to esoteric spirituality, than someone claiming concrete divinity.

I don't fully understand the Trinity either, but it is well represented in the Bible.

I used to be very faithful. I went on mission trips, took myself to church since my grandma didn't go and read the entire Bible front-to-back by the time I was 11 years old. But when I was about thirteen, adults in my life began to become unsettled. I brought my Bible everywhere with me and read it obsessively, I became thin and was engaging in self-harm. In school I was never paying attention, and no one could pull me away from my Bible.

The reason for this is because doubt had seeded in my mind when I began to notice inconsistencies in the Bible, and I told myself at the time that this was Satan sowing doubt in my mind. My faith was rewarded when I heard the voice of the "Holy Spirit". It was commanding me to fast like the people of Nineveh for my uncleanness (hence the thinness), and would occasionally ask that I hurt myself. I didn't have a whip, so I took a utility knife to my wrists and once, my back. I read the Bible at all times to keep the voice away, and prove my devotion. I began to believe I had a special part in God's plan and somehow was related to the Second Coming. I told my pastor I was hearing voices, and fortunately, he saw what was happening to me for what it was: a psychotic break. I was hospitalized and diagnosed with Bipolar disorder. After that my faith felt hollow. Why would God let me be deceived like that? Why would a voice that could claim "Jesus is Lord" have sway over my life? So I abandoned my faith.

Most of us humans know that we're pieces of shit, or at the very least, we know we're human. There are more complex reasons that we don't accept your book than you're willing to believe.

And also, even if I'm not a believer, I don't "hate" Jesus. I was a lonely kid with no parents being passed between relatives as they died or in one case, went insane. Jesus was my superhero. He was the only person who I felt consistently cared about me.

Um no. The real reason is that it doesn't hold up in the realm of science. Have you considered that sin is just a made up concept to shame you into thinking you are less than what you actually are? If you study cults, you would come to find out that practically all religions use some kind of shame/guilt or "rise to power" card to play. It's all a trick. Pride? What kind of pride are you referring too? No, it's not about pride, you are just terrified to burn in hell because you have been spoon-fed the notion that you are destined to burn without Jesus, all based on one book, not credible by any outside source. I agree on pride being the main reason why someone doesn't want to be become a Christian. Even someone who has never heard of God before and gets defensive when told that they need to go to church and accept Jesus but they want to live their own life and don't need God. My grandfather had a lot of pride and it took a lot for him to finally go to church an accept Jesus. It was a great day when he finally went to church with my family. But again he went back to his old ways of just living for himself and God dealt with my grandfather as he had a stroke. I really feel that God has a way to get his people back on track and even though my grandfather was never the same after that stroke, I felt sorry for him as he lost his health and was a totally different person. Before the stroke my grandfather was a prideful person who didn't need God and only cared about himself. He did whatever he wanted like going to dances and just making fun of God and my family as we're born again Christians after being Catholic for so long. I myself have seen that experience as a wake up call that God will not be mocked and he has the final say.

See the thing is, it’s hard to build a logical argument strictly out of Bible quotes. It just doesn’t work because the Bible and religions in general ask you to suspend disbelief for a lot of the stories they tell. For that reason, everything you said is biased and invalid.

I've been a Christian since i was 5yrs old. And up til now i hate how the bible have wisdom but dont tell you how to attain such a thing. Now here's what mean, like for example that girl on the striping pole, lust. Yes, you had commited adultry in your heart jus by lusting over her even though you didn't have sex. My thing is how do fight such battle? It only tell you to flee from sexual immorality. But urge is too strong for people. Prayers are answered but dont work, cause you still feel that powerful urge, fasting still dont work, and throwing away anything thats part of technology thatll help feed porn or other images in the mind won't do. So im not saying this is my problem but sins at some point are strong. Spiritual war fare, i know. But the bible does not tell you how to deal with it. Marriage? Your stuck with girl who has a higher chance of leaving you and in Corinthians 7 it tells you your can and cants. God may not send you girl right away.

I am not religious not because I "rejected the words of the gospel" but because I'm not exposed to it. My parents are not religious, all grandparents are no longer religious or take very little interest, I grew up in a secular society and yuppie neighbourhood. Religion has such little influence over the culture I am in. That is not my fault and I am happy in my position.

We now live in a world of technology and information, its really easy to search about everything you want, so you are completely able to know about it if you want. @behnam1999 No my parents (especially my mother) have always been tolerant of religion, it just wasn't something that my family ever enforced so I never was religious by association. It just never made sense, I never saw any reason why a deity would exist and religion never really had any kind of logical position in my life. The same could be said for people who are religious, arguable more so, in terms of thinking independently. I actually went to a catholic school for two years in year 7 and 8 so I did get some form of religious education but if anything that further established my atheism.

Christianity clearly is a judaic dogma that had nothing to do with western civilisation initially. It basically is the father of communism and Jesus, if he ever existed, was the world's first communist. I assure you that if you were to investigate my life you would find that I lead an exceptionally righteous life, certainly one that is better than that of the average person. I think what it really comes down to is that most people who aren’t Christian/don’t believe in Christianity simply were not taught to have those beliefs. There are people who adopt those beliefs later in life, but they have to be particular individuals who really relate to those beliefs and who think they will be happier d they adhere to them. I don’t hate Christianity, but it doesn’t appeal to me and I have no reason to adopt those beliefs or to want to adopt them.
