God's word is clear that we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Therefore you are not morally perfect; we all screw up from time to time. Moreover you have no right to think you're morally better and righteous than someone who is homosexual, lesbian, murderer, adulterer, greedy, thief, liar, arrogant, different religion, athiests, drug dealer, drunkard, manwhore or womanwhore, etc to look down upon them.
I'm not saying you should condone such lifestyles, conduct and beliefs which you shouldn't at all, but rather you shouldn't be such a self righteous little prick that think you're God's favorite little angel because you don't practice an immoral lifestyle.
Many homosexuals, lesbians, athiests, drunkards, hookers, Muslims, Hindus etc are repenting and giving their lives to Christ daily around the world. God is ready to pardon and his mercy and goodness is great and not beyond anyone. The apostle Paul comes to mind how He was attacking Christians in Jerusalem and having them thrown in prison til He was converted to Christ. We as Christians need to show sinners the same mercy and kindness Jesus showed to them, because hate will give them a reason to stay away from Christ.
You don't know the history nor pain people have gone through in their lives that might have caused them to be drug addicts, drunkards, hookers etc. I will share two parables the Lord Jesus taught on self righteous attitudes. I'm sure you all as Christians know the parable of the prodigal son. I will break down the meaning of the parable for those that might not know it.
The background of the parable story is being told because tax collectors (Thiefs) and sinners were drawing near to hear Jesus and the self righteous Pharisees complained and had a problem that Jesus was eating with them; the Pharisees should have been happy for them instead they complained and found fault so Jesus told a parable.
The Father= God the Father, The Younger Son= Sinners, The Older Son= Self righteous Pharisees.
Luke 15:11-32:
Then He said: “A certain man had two sons. And the younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the portion of goods that falls to me.’ So he divided to them his livelihood.
And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country, and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living. But when he had spent all, there arose a severe famine in that land, and he began to be in want.
Then he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
And he would gladly have filled his stomach with the pods that the swine ate, and no one gave him anything.
“But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.”’
“And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.
And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.’
“But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet.
And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ And they began to be merry.
“Now his older son was in the field. And as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing. So he called one of the servants and asked what these things meant.
And he said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and because he has received him safe and sound, your father has killed the fatted calf.’
“But he was angry and would not go in. Therefore his father came out and pleaded with him.
So he answered and said to his father, ‘Lo, these many years I have been serving you; I never transgressed your commandment at any time; and yet you never gave me a young goat, that I might make merry with my friends.
But as soon as this son of yours came, who has devoured your livelihood with harlots, you killed the fatted calf for him.’
“And he said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours. It was right that we should make merry and be glad, for your brother was dead and is alive again, and was lost and is found."
Luke 18:9-14:
Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others.
“Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector.
I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.’ And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’
I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
Conclusion:
We were all lost and doing wrong before God's eyes as the Bible says in Titus. How do you know today will be the last day a prostitute gives sex to a client because she will give her life to Christ hours from now when she hears the gospel?
How do you know today is the last day someone will quit being a athiest, thief, arrogant, hateful, drug dealer, drunkard etc?
I saw a story on TV how a brave Christian shared the gospel with a member of ISIS in the Damascus, Syria where ISIS headquarters are located I think, and He received the gospel and got baptized into Christ. A straight bloodthirsty murderer and terrorist. Can you believe it?
The works of God are marvelous and many are getting saved in Christ around the world daily. Mercy and loves conquers all in the end. 😊
