Learning To Love Myself
When I learn to love myself, I come to accept myself in all that I am and embrace it with such dignity. Learning to love myself helps me to become more confident, more understanding and helps me stay true to myself. It becomes easier for me to set my own internal and external boundaries and puts me directly in the way of experiencing healthier and happier relationships. When I learn to love who I am, I am ready and prepared to embrace myself.
A few months ago, I had been struggling with relationships. I hadn't even realized that a relationship with myself and God were so very important. However, these thoughts were far from my mind. Over the next course of months, I had two bad break-ups , more painful is having to announce them strictly as my ex fiancée’s. I was humiliated , ashamed and I was taking it all out on me. Before a few months ago, a year had quickly gone by. Within that time I had so many people telling me to go back to church, to read the Bible and pray. I must admit, at that time I was not having it by any means. Until one day out of the year my very beautiful, and recovered drug addict sister, finally convinced me enough to attend church. On that very day at church, I felt the power of God touch my shoulder as if to tell me , "welcome, home". I felt the Holy Spirit move through me and from that moment on watched my life begin to change for the better. Witnessing my deepest prayers come true. I was thankful.
Today, I'm learning to love myself, my journey and trusting within God, (my Higher Power) to help guide and lead me through life. Just as He always intended.
Affirmation: Today, I will allow myself the time, patience and kindness be directed inwards to myself and allow God or my Higher Power to work through me so that I may come to understand the value of loving myself everyday.
Prayer: To you my Lord/ Higher power I ask that you please confirm the love that I may have for myself and to help me discover the journey of my heart and life, so that I may come to know your Love for me and so I may spread that love wherever I may go. Amen.
