Why Jesus taught the type of prayer that He did

In Matthew 6, Jesus says that God knows what you need without you reminding him about it and if you try to serve God, God will give you the things you need, it doesn’t mean you will never struggle, but it means you will not struggle more than necessary and that God will help you through your struggles and protect your heart when you go through your difficulties.

For example, you might pray for God to fix your broken romantic relationship when God wants to give you a better relationship with a new person that does not need fixing, you might pray for God to help you get into nursing school when God wants the nursing schools to reject you so you can go to surgery school instead, you might pray for God to let you marry a high school teacher when God wants the high school teacher to reject you so you can marry a college professor instead etc…

God’s plan for your life is better than your plan for your life and God is better at solving problems than you are and God knows what will make you happy 20 or 40 years down the road while you might only know what will make you happy within the next 2-5 years or 3-4 days, this is one of MANY reasons that God said to pray for His Will and not your own, you might not know the guy you like has a health problem that will shorten his life, you might not know your children will be disabled if you marry a certain man or woman but God knows everything so you should pray for God’s desires and not your own.
