How I understand the return of the unclean spirit

In the bible Jesus talks about how an unclean spirit gets driven out of a man and goes through dry places seeking rest and does not find it and than says “I will return to the house so left.” And when it returns it finds it uncoupled, swept clean, and out in order, and it brings with it seven more spirits more wicked than itself and the final condition of that man is worst is worse than the first and that this is the way it will be with this wicked and adulterous generation.

The way I understand this passage is that an ungodly man chases the kingdom of God for ungodly reasons, he seeks to become rich, to be respected and admired and to find a beautiful wife, rather than the godly man who chases God’s kingdom to go to heaven, to experience a God’s love, and to find mercy and meaning in life.

Because the ungodly man chases God for ungodly reasons, the ungodliness in him returns after his ungodliness is driven out by the kingdom of God and he then uses his new found God for ungodly purposes and becomes seven times more ungodly than he was before he pursued God’s kingdom.

This is what will happen to these greedy, possessive and violent believers who view the kingdom of God as a social battlefield and not as a way to spread mercy and love.
