The Problem with Atheists, not with the Atheism itself.

This is simply My Take on this topic, my thoughts!

I am religious, but i am not the type of person that will go to church each week.
Not the type of person that will argue about religions or/and atheism. Not really into defending belief or attacking atheism. Yet even i notice, the problem is not Atheism itself, but the atheists.
Lately, over the years, they (you) tend to get more aggressive, angry and pushy, on their ideology. Why i said ideology? Because they don't push a belief, (since they don't believe in deities), but still push their convictions despite that.

But the real problem is, the moment there is ANYTHING in support to religion, they can hardly take it. If they do take it, they will try to debunk it, and i admire them for the critical thinking, but if they cannot debunk it, they deny it.
This is the moment where researches done, on children with memories which are not their own (but rather from previous lives) , comes into play.

Because there are indeed some cases, (most notable one bein the case of James Leininger), that atheists have spent YEARS, trying to debunk, to no avail, only to end up saying "F*ck you, all of you" on Reddit, and mind you, they said that to their own 'brethren' and simply disappear. Regardless, atheists will keep denying that cases like that are even a thing.

This is the moment they become DENIERS. Its no longer about the atheism, its about simply denying anything that comes from religions or belief. Anything that supports or might support the other side.
They may ask for evidence, but if\when they get anything close to it, they reject it. Being Analogical evidence, Anecdotal evidence or Unprecedented evidence from researches, if its thrown at them, they will look the other way, turn blind eye.
Guess you can't convince someone, for whom it isn't about whether he or she can be convinced or not, but rather about to prove itself right, because that way (hopefully) will come in/to terms with itself and achieve some inner peace.

your problem with atheists is the same problem i have with you religious people. Its not religion i have issues with. Its the atrocities carried out in the name of religion. Its Throughout the ages people were murdered by the millions in the name of religion. Spanish inquisition comes to mind. Same for the burning times where Christians, YES CHRISTIANS burned what they called witches at the stake, because they were different.. Millions were killed from both of those combined. Take what they did to prominent scientists who dared challenge the geocentric dogma at the time (geocentric being where the earth is the center of the universe).. Or even in modern times, people forcing their religion on people who do not want it. Or in my own experience, spending time in a boys home where church was mandatory, and if you failed to take communion, failed failed to stand, sit, sing and recite idiotic prayers, you were dragged out of the church, beaten to a bloody pulp, drugged and thrown in isolation for weeks at a time without access to a bathroom, no food, no water, nothing. I can't tell you the number of times i almost died there. And they called it therapy in Christ, they told me that i was a heathen and it was their job to civilize me.. The arrogance of it all. Or losing friends because i celebrate Christmas with my wife and her family.. I've been told im going to hell for that.. For what? Celebrating a holiday that the Christians STOLE from pagans? Yes you heard that right Most religious holidays were holidays stolen from pagans and renamed, Christmas was Yule, or Harvest, Easter was Beltane, and the weeks leading up to it was called Ostara.. I could go on, they did this in effort to bring more pagans into Christianity. Look at the first council of Nicaea. Oh and dont get me started on the bible. What you call the bible has been altered, modified and changed so much that i guarantee its not the original book that was written. On the first council of Nicaea they removed something like 60 books from the bible... 60!. And every British monarch for over a thousand years, until king James, rewrote the book to suite what they want. Dont believe me, look it up.. Both of the major Aberhamic religions have massive amounts of blood on their hands, and honestly stifled scientific advancement and technological advancement for over 1000 years. Its sad that i know more about the history of the christian faiths than most Christians do...

I have ZERO issues with any religion, just the people that practice it. Especially the ones that force it on others.

Here is the funny thing, my wife is catholic, and i am atheist, I have no issues with her religion, we dont talk about it much, and i have no issues with her families religion, They are good people, and do a lot of good. I never stop her from doing her religious stuff, and we came to the decision that we would allow any children we have to choose for them selves... unlike christian families. I also absolutely do not force my views on anyone.. Ever, Unless they try to force theirs on me first. I will not tell you that you're wrong, because you might not be. I will not tell you that you're right because you might not be. Its not my business to change your beliefs, because i do not have that right.. But if someone goes and pushes their faith on me you better believe i will clap right back.. And i am not saying that this is what you did here, just giving you an opposite perspective.

When I read it I had a feeling that the person asking the question was irritated by and annoyed about the things the other side was irritated about. I've been in the middle but as time passes I unfortunately come to the self realization that I am becoming more of a man of hope rather than a man of faith. I'm mixed in culture was baptized in the Catholic church. Strayed far away eventually went to a Christian born again church with my Dad. Maybe I just had some bad luck but what I run into over and over again is a us against them mentality. Our side is right they are wrong and going to hell. It doesn't line up because I suppose one person has it more right than the other I'm sure. I'm not talking about you two in particular because I've yet to meet you but I've met some great people also on some level I can respect someone who has passion in their beliefs but passion should never turn into anger. I want to have that moment where it all makes sense and the spirit does to me as so many say it has done to them. There are a lot of people like me that have questions and have been looked down and ridiculed for even having questions. What I find out is people like worldscolide an atheist probably has more knowledge about religion than the avg person going to church on Sunday. Some people say times were different back then so it's not exactly fair that we judge them. I can agree if they would maybe agree that times are different and maybe those judging people in the middle or on the outside with the same amount of fairness. We should all be open to exchange ideas and communicate without having a us against them attitude. One thing I'm certain we can all agree on is that there will always be issues in which we disagree

I often laugh when someone says they left a church but yet they still follow everything about it constantly, on the news, changes, etc...

Like uh, if you left it why do you still follow all that, it is like you still care enough to keep tabs on it, your not really leaving it.

Atheism and science really are like a kind of religion though, they require specific believes.

I am not very religious at all, in fact if I stepped in a church I'm sure I'd either burst into flames or be struck by lightning but I do believe in the next life, because I almost died and my grandfather was there to help and save me.

Will have to agree with this one, I’ve noticed it myself and I say this as an atheist. I don’t like this about ‘my kind’ for lack of better words. I used to be an edgy know it all myself when I was a teenager and had just become an atheist, but I’ve grown out of it so it annoys me when I see it in other atheists because it reminds me of myself back when I was an annoying ass.

Personally, I don’t mind religion at all so long as it remains separated from state. I don’t want obligatory religious classes but I don’t mind if there are religious classes. I don’t want obligatory religious services but don’t mind if there are religious services, and I don’t want a single cent of my tax money going to the church. That is all. Atheists who demand the eradication of the church and of religion in it’s entirety are insane.

Because they aren’t. A child’s mind is underdeveloped and they themselves are not mature enough to adequately explain the inconsistencies in their thoughts. I used to be completely convinced that I had a minor ability to see into the near-future because there were often instances of when someone was speaking and I kind of would know what they were about to say before they even said it. I still have this “ability”. Turns out it’s just a brainfart. Turns out my brain sometimes just doesn’t register what I hear right away but instead in a delayed manner. That’s it. No superstition.

I mean I can’t speak for all atheist, but the problem with a lot of evidence is that it’s very very vague, and has many possible explanations. A good rule of thumb is that when you have multiple explanations that explain a phenomena, it’s generally better to go with one that doesn’t require as many unverifiable assumptions.

Another problem with a lot of evidence, it’s hard for a third party to recreate the conditions to find such evidence. Anecdotal evidence is especially troubling as not only is it difficult if not impossible to verify, but it’s well known that people can be unreliable in their accounts. People experiences and accounts are fallible.

Another problem are that these ideas are fundamentally unfalsifiable. Unfalsifiability means any sort of method I could ever devise to show that the idea is wrong, there could be a way to explain it away. Example: There are fairies in my garden. It is just that they are invisible, emit no heat, make no sound, touch nothing, and intangible. Every idea in principle should have the ability to be proven wrong in some sort of way. Ideas of the religious kind are unfalsifiable. I mean people can believe in ideas that are unfalsifiable, but I think it’s best ignore ideas that are unfalsifiable (one major reason is the fact that you could come up with contradictory statements and both of them would be just as valid).

Also not all atheist are like that or post stuff on Reddit.

Well doctors and scientist can have confirmation bias. If you go into an experiment already believing what you are trying to prove, you’re likely to write off any discrepancy (i. e. it might must be someone simply misremembered details, etc.)

The entire division is the division of perceptual studies, which try to seek evidence of these things. When you’re going into an experiment trying to find your conclusion, you’ll often find it by ignoring all the discrepancies. This is why you need other scientist to verify, ones that don’t have this bias.

This tension between God and man hardening the heart is what makes it clear that the problem is EXACTLY with the Atheist and his unbelief. The Atheist worships the creature rather than Creator. First of all, I am admittedly a militant Atheist. I believe that religious faith is the greatest folly of humanity. But don't let that color your opinion of who I am, I hate the religious mindset, the teachings of any and all religion and above all, the indoctrination of children into corrupting mindsets... Okay, first of all, I don't know anyone, nor have I ever know anyone in the past, who really did believe that "invisible gods" watch over them. I've have met plenty of people who accept that our reality needs an explanation for why it is the way it is though, or why it even exists in the first place. Not only that is not atheism, which is the absence of belief even if it was that is not enough to make a religion.

I agree with the last part fully, but I don't see why that's a reason to be agnostic. I myself don't know where the universe comes from, doesn't mean that I will put forward the possibility of a sky-daddy having made it.

Where there's agnostic-atheist and agnostic-theist. I'd probably be agnostic-theist, because all the world's major religions make no moral sense to me, were written in an intellectual dark age, and are written from a very selfish human perspective, especially Yahweh in Christianity. However, who am I to say that I know for sure that there's no God up there? I mean, *I* don't believe there is, but I'm not going to claim I'm "right" about it or that my opinion is the "correct" one. That's why I'm not an atheist.

Yes. I see it too. These people attack with all the religious zeal of a baptist preacher. Atheism is their religion. They are their own god.
It's sad to me
