What the bible teaches about love that your community will not

I used to know a guy that I thought was absolute trash. He flunked out of college, flunked out of his real estate exam, slept with strangers at bars, had anger issues, talked hate all day long and could not understand why I did not show interest in sleeping with him when he tested me.

Now this is my point, Matthew 6:33 says that love is something you gain through the meritorious act of pursuing God’s kingdom. True love is earned and it’s dependent on your current or past act and sacrifice. It’s not a genetic gift. It’s not a cosmic lottery game. Not a strategy game where the most charming dancer gets the winner. Not tribute from a war or social battle. It’s your rightfully deposited karma based on your actions and acceptance of God.
