Which is the proper form of defining atheism: positive or negative and are you shocked 2 claimed atheists got into a heated debate?

Please watch this 1 hour 16 minute debate where 2 people who deem themselves as atheist got into a heated debate discussing what the proper way to define an atheist is.

Tom Jump takes the negative atheism view where he sees it as a lack of a belief but he is okay with using either term if others want to describe themselves as a positive atheist. Blake Speed takes the positive atheism view where the term should be in seeking truth of if God actually exists or not. It is also amazing how people say atheists can't get into a heated debate with each other. These men were hot fired mad at each other throughout much of this debate.

If you are seeking truth, it will appear you'll use the positive atheism view. Steve McRae is an intelligent man who deems himself as an atheist and said all scholars use it in the positive form meaning they believe no God exist.

I think there is no such thing as a lack of a belief. You either believe God exist or you believe God doesn't exist. It is still a belief, nonetheless, even if it is in the negation.

They used terms like gay can mean happy or homosexual but we should use it in the way that the community best understand by what we say. Do you agree and did you like that part?

Please share your views on who gave the better stance! These men are experienced debated and Modern Day Debates has lots of good debate content on it from different subjects.

I think Blake Speed smoked the debate. He won hands down. Please share 2 views of each that you can understand their view!
