This was back when God was in His "whiny toddler" phase, and saw humanity as nothing more than playthings. There's no other excuse for slaughtering innocent people who violated rules You never even made them aware of. It's much like the thing with the innocent Egyptian kids He'd kill later on.

That this same god would later incarnate and be surprised when humanity killed Him suggests He obviously isn't paying much attention. Jesus talked about His message being received like the seeds a farmer sows, ignoring the part where the message so often is "kill those who disagree with you". Hypocrisy is no less an ugly thing in a god.

If you read all of it, the humanity turn theyr face away from God and start to make a lot of sins so he destroy the sin because God know what thous people will had done.
But God still give humanity a second chance and let Noe live whit his family.
We are the creation of God and God can do what ever he want whit us.

Oh scare me again, I love it. Get an education, delve into the bible with an open mind, then come back with some actual knowledge. I HAVE made religious study part of my life since a very early age. Approach each phrase in the Old Testament with an inquisitive mind and see the descriptions by men of how they perceived the Almighty.
