I am not able to ascribe human traits to God. I think the Cosmos and Creation is the greatest mystery of all time, and then there's always the question (assuming you believe in God or an Almighty power) -- "Where did THAT come from" ?

I know some very smart people who believe. maybe you are right, maybe you are wrong. If so, Jesus was the smartest person in history, and whoever wrote it... is genius. not to mention all the other cultures who seek something beyond themselves for they know they are finite.

the issue all humans have to face is... where did we come from and where do we go. that exit part can be awful and scary. That's not "weak"... thats human... it's solved with belief. that issue in effect, resulted in "God" in many forms. If you choose "N/A"... then you've chosen not to make a choice. Science doesn't know and ignores the human heart.

A lot of people understand his message in history, some very "intelligent" people and those who aren't so much. It isn't an intellectual book, but one of the heart.

I deal with a lot of people who have advanced scientific degrees in my life. All but two are Christian. These people are far more based in science than most keyboard quarterbacks are, yet they trust their lives to a personal Saviour in the form of Jesus Christ.

I have yet to meet an atheist who, when pushed, isn't actually an agnostic.

My advice would be to read through Revelations onwards. That's not how it goes down in The Kingdom Of Heaven. And I will be happy to see all my friends and family again that made it through. My grandfather put his life on the line protecting a starving orphanage, starved giving up all his rations to the nuns and children and hunkered down to protect them from the Japanese. My other grandfather not only helped build one of the local churches where I grew up but would go out of his way to help the poor, drive them to the doctors, make sure they got the meds they needed on his dime. My grandmother fully funded the education of 4 African American kids who could not afford Uni but who had the smarts for it. All became doctors or lawyers! My other grandmother did a lot of Charity work. So the people I care about WILL be there, that I believe. I dont come from a line of self centered people.

And probably the other 63% of dudes either cheated on their wives or were horrible racists. And the women in your family were probably just as racist and hateful. So maybe the only family you will see in Heaven will be those who died as fetuses or small babies, who didn't have a chance to sin. And this is all assuming you somehow make it into Heaven, which you probably won't. So your reunion is most likely to happen in the fiery depths of Hell. :)
