Do you really think the foundation of America is God 🇺🇸?
What are ya thoughts? 🤪
It is for me, and always will be. Yes, I believe the "founding fathers" were influenced by God when creating this nation and deciding how it would be governed. There will always be some people butthurt because those men were not perfect. They never claimed to be, and there's only been one perfect person to walk this earth.
But they did come together to create a nation that was capable of learning and growing as time went on. One that understood that everyone should be free to live their own lives and make their own decisions on how to raise their families. They understood the evils that would happen if a government had too much power over the people, and even how to divide the government so that no one part of it would have too much power.
I don't wanna write an essay here, but I'll just say I don't believe that humans could have come up with the ideas that they did without the influence of God. We're not that smart on our own, and we continue to prove that daily.
You can actually see evil as more people push God out of their lives and start living based on what "man" says. The best example is this: God saying "love one another", while "man" says only love people who look or think like you do.
And yes, while in the beginning, people didn't fully understand that part, the way they founded this nation, let the knowledge that "all men are created equal" eventually come to light for all of us.
If you take a quick look around the world, you'll see that many nations still are missing that.
German Wehrmacht and SS wore belts with engraving "Gott mit uns" [God (is) with us] while Nazi Germany time. We all know, god was never drive of Nazis but greed for resources and workforce.
I think we can draw parallels here and there to foundation of America without any doubt.
Used as a manipulation tactic.
No country will ever be holy enough to claim God as their only leader but the statement about God is done to increase the degree of religious sentiment in the country.
"America was built on freedom" - :D Funny!
"America" was built on slavery, genocide and imperialism, and don't deny it!
Wasn’t every civilization built on those things.
@VanessaValentine The Minoan civilisation. The ancient Tibetan civilisation. The Polynesians. The earliest cities, like Catal Huyuk in Turkey.
@VanessaValentine A more recent example - the Irish.

Wow, this is one hell of a question. And you know what as much as I would like to put an answer for it I don't think it would fully answer anything due to the gravity of this question. The foundation I'm doubtful of that even with all that we have written into our constitution on our currency impossible belief systems because in all honesty if that were the case the vast religions that we have would be zero we'd be a monotheistic country but yeah I I can't even ask this question in full capacity, honestly.
Yes, we are a country founded by religious extremists who were kicked out of their country for having beliefs that could not be tolerated in Europe. They rebelled as a colony, succeeded, and made a government with the first most important thing being freedom of religion, speech, assembly. Then sweet sweet firearms.
Whether you believe in god or not is irrelevant, if you're an American, it is the foundation of this nation.
Which god, though?
It could only be the bloodthirsty Quetzalcoatl! It's why they are all fucking nuts and always killing each other and those of other countries.
Joking aside, the less someone is, the more they covet it. American have always used religion as a mask, they don't really know much about it.
North Americans are a bunch of ignorant morons. (Fyi, I’m N American). You can’t say “in God we trust” while having freedom of religion. It becomes meaningless - basically just something to claim because it sounds good. People don’t trust God. They trust in the American Dream - misguided as it is.
A judeo-christian worldview enables US culture and laws as we know it. It's definitely not a perfect system and has been almost thoroughly corrupted, but the founding fathers had a worthy cause and did a decent job for setting up a nation for success.
When greed becomes the driving force for leaders, what follows is a debasement of currency as well as morality, then that nation goes into decline. Much like Rome. Fear and trust of God helps prevent a slide towards corruption.
No, the founding fathers where not particularly religious for their time, and many outright rejected the christian world view. America was founded on the ideals of the enlightenment, which explicitly opposed the church doctrine of the time, and introduced ideas of secular government to the world.
Might be of it's populace but the founding fathers were largely deitists who only believed in a natural order, not an omnipresent God.
So it isn't accurate to call it a Christian nation per se but in practice the majority of the country's population are and have been for some time.
no i think the foundation of america is "the people". the freedoms afforded to people have been fought for by people against religion. not by religion. sure there are some values that somewhat still overlap with judeo-christian values. but lots of them are not. you're not free to have slaves anymore. that's certainly not a judeo-christian development, cause those are explicitly allowing slavery.
Yeah. It is built on ancient Kemet and the principles of the Bible and such. Why do you think it looks like Kemet in dc? Why do you think the symbols are the same etc etc. Why do you think America is David and beat Goliath England. It is also built on a lot of fucked up stuff too likely slavery. Black people did a lot for this country. Sacrifice countless lives and culture by force...
The foundation of america, is supposed to be "freedom/liberty and the pursuit of happiness"
God, doesn't really imply those.
If it makes you happy to believe in it, then that's your freedom, but you CAN NOT THEN FORCE IT ON OTHER PEOPLE
No, I think the foundation of America is the people who built this country into what it is. Yeah, a lot of them believed in God and was a part of their culture, but just as this country has grown from that so have the people and the culture.
A big part of that is the importance of acknowledging higher authorities than the king without facing punishment for it; there's a reason that authoritarians always begin their pirfes with religious people.
only those who are not aware of actual history... would believe that Christianity was the base of America... lol
WASP's taking over is a different and more recent story, lol
America was founded on Christian beliefs but it has allowed non Christians to enjoy our freedoms and mock our beliefs. America, Love it or leave it…
The foundation of America is the opposite, it's the separation of church and state, without it we aren't free.
I cringe when I hear a politician speak like a preacher.
They changed it to that in the 50's to distinguish themselves from the Russians. I prefer Ben Franklin's preference for the motto on our money: "Mind your business."
They say we're not supposed to question God so who knows, Why are babies/adults dying from hunger, It's hit America with a shortage of formula for babies so sad?
Sure, but not specfically meaning the christian God. Its simply the title of a more general higher power. Something to have faith in.
It's definitely not. God isn't mentioned in the Constitution. The founders weren't particularly religious. Many were definitely not Christian.
I think...
(the text says: ''God with us'')
God gave an (indirect) answer, didn't He?
