Is it wrong to 'church hop' to try and find a partner?

I am still single at 40, online dating is full of people looking for hook ups and I want to be married. I have googled some churches in and around my area - would it be wrong/is it desperate to church hop trying these churches out to see if I can find a partner. I told a friend at church I was going to look at different churches and they said I'm not trusting God and trying to take things into my own hands, I am 38 now though.

Only "hop" In churches that aren't evil. To that end I would visit all the SDA churches in your area, that worship a 7th day Sabbath.

I only date Christians so church is an obvious place, I have tried christian events too, got dates however it didn't lead too anything

I just see women that say no hook ups on any apps, I guess it’s reversed for women looking for men, I’m looking for a relationship but it sucks in the area I’m in , suburban New York
