Nope. I've read a bunch of different religious texts mainly when I was in middle school at the public library along with pretty much the entire philosophy section, but I've never been very religious. I kind of read religious text cover to cover like they are a text book, which isn't the most spiritual way to go about it I guess... I like to understand what different people believe, but I'm not much for ritual, pageantry, or group think. If you gave me cult videos to watch, I'd observe them objectively but be very disassociated from them. I often read ideas from people/doctrines I disagree with just to see how they think. You can't really know the truth if you haven't challenged your ideas in as many ways as possible. If you mean all those new age motivational speakers and crap like that, they just make me laugh most of the time, because they are so ridiculous, manipulative, and disingenuous... I suppose that’s my intended nature… My surname literally means to struggle with God. That is, my relationship with God isn’t meant to be passive in nature based on blind obedience, it’s an active relationship of struggle, confrontation, and dialogue. My name would suggest that I would constantly question God, aggressively confront religious ideas, and seek clarification… And instinctively that is what I have done I suppose without intending to. Weird how that works.
