I was wondering why the annual debate about "Paganism & Christianity" and "why you can hate religion but also celebrate Christmas" was late, and here we go. 😂 A similar question appears every year in December and the same comments repeat. So let's meet again next year with a similar question, till then, have fun folks. 😅
@moondazed I am sure everyone will be tuned to Christmas Day parade too. It is sort of predictable but rejection and emptiness when the event passes. It is always a let down and one can usually see it New Years resolutions...
Of course they can. No one knows for sure the true origins of the holiday, so anyone who says it was originally meant to Christ's birth or that it was originally intended to celebrate the sun and light during the Winter Solstice, is only guessing.
Regardless, Christmas has come to be a celebration of family and charity by most, regardless of their religious views, and there is certainly nothing wrong with that.
It's so commercialized anyway, they can celebrate it any way they want. Santa has very little to do with the true meaning of Christmas and the North Pole has absolutely nothing to do with it.
Yes, of course non-religious people can still celebrate Christmas. As a matter of fact, in America at least anyway, I think Christmas has become more of a cultural holiday than a religious one. Whether that is a good thing or a bad one is another question.

Of course they can. Most Christmas traditions pre-date Christianity. My wife and I celebrate with a few gifts although neither of us is religious. Christmas, Festives, Saturnalia, it's just different names for a midwinter celebrations.

I'm religious as in I only beleive in God but I do not have a certain group that I follow. We also never celebrated Christmas like that so I'm sure non religious can too lol
with christ all things are possible with man there are not if you dig down deep why ask or wonder to others you know this as a fact everyone has their cross to bare no exceptions it's why we live in a fallen world think why all the unknowns hope you have a very blessed Christmas & happy new year you go girl it takes smarts to ask a questions on social media
I think so. To some people Christmas is just about spending time with family, exchanging gifts, eating good food, they don’t really care about the religious side. Thinking Christmas is only for people who believe in god is an archaic way of thinking.
Most of the foundations of Christmas are more based on Pagan traditions than the birth of Jesus. So that being said I dont believe Christmas can only be enjoyed by any one group.
I don’t think there is any problem with non-Christians celebrating Christmas. It is consistent with the Christian expression of the holiday to be generous to all who come with good will.
Well they just see it as a secular holiday. Family, food, gift giving, and goodwill are all things you can do and celebrate without religiosity. It's originally a non-Christian holiday anyway, so there's that.

Well, yes. Has anyone stopped them from celebrating it?

Yes. Most Christmas celebrations, at least in the United States, have little to nothing to do with Christ.

I think anyone can celebrate whatever they want to celebrate.
Although I'm still lost on religion and dont know what path to take I do enjoy Christmas the songs and the celebrations and santa it's fun
Christmas is basically a commercial holiday anyway.
My family never really made it about religion. It was all about food, family and holiday “magic”. Time to just be happy.

The holiday should be enjoyed by all people!
