Is this part of the bible tradition, to make you depend on Gods before God answers you?

I was watching a YouTube video and a girl says that in Joshua 7, God purposely weakens the Israeli army by reducing the number of fighters so they will be forced to rely on God for their military victory.

And the details are unclear, but I believe the victory was due to the enemy fleeing and fighting in darkness, a possible fire brought in by torches and the intimidation factor of trumpets sounding so that the enemy, over estimates the number of people attacking them and flees, then kills his neighbour in his night blindness when his escape route is blocked.

It was a victory built on strategy and not man power or social density dominance. I had similar strategic victories in school, where my grade was 40% higher than people more intelligent then me, because I exploited niches in writing that gave me an academic advantage.

1, no not a condition "before answers". 2 the small number chosen to attack, the reason is not specified in bible so not "in", still the interpretation fits the story. 3 they LOST lost not victory see 7,5. on this topic these battle stories conflicted joshua chapter 24,12 and since contradiction can't be from god that book is not holy which leads to the question how did the jewish part get into the christian bible? the founders, catholic popes should not have trusted jew rabbis for their traditions which book is holy. instead only included the ones mentioned by name jeremia and isaiah and psalms or similar few. not accepted genesis or others unless jesus mentioned them by name which he did not. even his quote similar to genesis differs from the jew genesis and was a different source. two become one added duo to indicate not genesis see mathew 19,5. nuf for now.

there's a big difference between the old testament and new where the former says fear me and the latter says love me.

Joshua was given strict instructions on how to take Jericho.
