Why do so many who claim to believe in God, totally disrespect Nature?

The quote is idiotic; the God most people worship is the creator of nature, not a part of it. Start with the presumption that you are your father, and then dial it up several degrees, since you are, as a human, the same type of thing (a human, specifically) as your father. God and nature are MUCH further apart.
To the question itself: because we can do better. When Stephen Hawking is born with Lou Gehrig's disease, we don't kill him, or leave him out for the lions; we spend time, money and effort treating him and giving him options and abilities to live a full, rich life- in defiance of nature. When vast sections of our population lose the ability to digest lactose, we don't kill them off by bombarding them with cheese- in defiance of nature. When we find wounded coyotes, animals that interfere with our day-to-day lives and harm our livestock, we help them if we can, and offer a quick and painless death if we can't- in defiance of nature.
Compassion, consideration, and long-term planning are entirely artificial; the fact that our concern for natural disruption is great that we've poured time, money, and lives into reducing our environmental impact to the point that, relative to our biomass, we're one of the LEAST impactful species on the planet is entirely due to our refusing to be ruled by it.
they don't "claim to believe". they do believe. they claim a god exists that doesn't evidently exist. and because they rather believe than know, they rather follow fiction than facts, which inevitably will lead to dealing damage to real things in order to pursue their delusion.

the equation is false, cannot "destroy " god. what you consider respect is subjective. no religion instruction to destroy nature that they were obeying. to what were you even referring?
I guess it depends on what you really mean. God Created nature, he isn't nature. Secondly, we should respect his creation, like to grow crops instead of buying them.
Whuh? How fucking high was he when he blurted that?
Also, using nature does not mean "disrespecting" it.
Firstly we don't claim to believe in God. We do believe in God. But you're right we ought to respect nature which is God's creation.
yea! go you, you tell him.
I give thanks unto You, Adonai, that, in mercy, You have restored my soul within me. Endless is Your compassion; great is Your faithfulness. I thank You, Adonai, for the rest You have given me through the night and for the breath that renews my body and spirit.
