Humanity in general.. Japan is largely atheist and some Buddhist.. And look at the depravity they did during World War ll.. An example of the opposite of the Hacksaw Ridge guy who only helped his fellow soldiers and never killed I believe.. Mainly because he believed it was his calling, his purpose..
